VPS Recommendations Please

I have been using the Global Prime VPS , but I have not been hitting my 20 lot target so it costs $35 aud a month for 1gb Ram which I find is maxing out at times.

Can any one recommend a easy to use and easy to setup reliable VPS provider ?

I use Amazone Web Service ! excellent service, technology very flexible and and it cost $1 a year for your first VPS. Very good stuff in term of security, network management ect...

+1 for databasemart. Didn't like Beeks as it's shared and slow.

DBM also slow but plenty good enough that I've seen

Amazon is potentially the cheapest... but they take a credit card. If you get hacked and you don't notice your server has been used as a music download server you could face the bill of a lifetime.... was what put me off. Also, it's a bit of extra work with EC2 to setup

Linux servers used to be cheaper but not so much anymore as newer releases of windows have reduced memory requirements so now if you need visual (which you do for Empty4) then they're much the same and Windows more reliable probably than Wine on linux

Suggest setting up Duo security 2 factor - login prompts your phone... there's a lot of password brute forcing attempts logged everywhere these days

about aws, for credit card I use a virtual visa card which very easy to set in neteller so you never found more than what you want to pay.

For network security each Amazon account can set VPN with policies on ports ect, this completly beside the server network configuration, so if you get hacked, is really that you never monitor your own server.

You have several version of linux available and windows as well; so no issue to chose the server you need according to the software you want to have it running.

I used a lot of VPS service over the years, there are a lot of good out there, for me Amazon offer a complete solution, not only VPS but more, it come with the price, but reasonable.
