Anyway, even my Empty4 seems to behave oddly last week with only BUY orders although i did make sure it is doing both long and short order on EA setup. Eventually, i've trashed the entire Empty4 instance and build a new instance over last weekend. Doing well now on both buy and sell with nice result.

*I must have used that rogue Empty4 instance extensively on other EA development and testing.

Thank you all for your suggestions as the culprit seem to be my error of not checking the box that allows live trading and that took another 100+ pips away from the profit.

What MAD-EA setup are you using? Your profit is slow and steady. At least no closure on losses. Do you carry retracement DD over from previous day?

I don't usually do Monday trading, but was running MAD-EA on monday with time filter, bagged 21.8% (1914 pips, $654). Nice but still not satisfactory as the asia session was deep in DD before london market boosted everything.

Attached is my EA settings.

Same setting but entering on the M5 TF but this seem to suffer more DD than the M30 entry. Will try the M15 TF too

No special reason but just picking a number away from the crowd.

I also play with 21, 35, 40 & 50 SSMA/LWMA/EMA but will probably change to a lower number as I wasn't planning to trade off the M30 TF. I wanted a HTF setup and LTF entry but in the process of the EA testing, found the M30 entries to have less DD that M5 entries. I'm putting the M15 to the test now but thinking of staying with M30 with smaller MA.

I'm off for a snooze.

Well yesterday was a good reality check. My 4H TJF ended up in deep DD with all the E reversals. Adding a 30m 12 ma filter to see if it can keep some of the trades out of DD though with a move like E did yesterday really only a TL break like TJF uses would have saved a few pips.

Leon, How did your 60/30 setup do yesterday?

Maybe a stupid noob question, but what would happen if someone combined MAD-EA with Steve's magic Griddy Thingy?
Most of the time the trend continues and the grid would make a shedload of pips.
When it doesn't and there's a reversal because the trend is exhausted, the opposite grid would fill and would also make a lot of pips.
What do you think about it?

Neo, i am beginning to think that the start time of the EA to trade for the day has to do with each individual output. I don't normally put monday to trade, but out of curiosity, i've enabled it with time filter to allow trading starting from Asia session 1:00 (GMT) and ending at 17:00 (GMT). So my very first order comes in at near 1:00 (GMT). From there the EA was set to only allow the same symbol to trade again in the next 6 hours. So it took up the next trade at near to 7:00 (GMT) and then another one at about 15/16th hour (GMT).

The pause of 6 hours could be different for yours and also based on when your first order of the day was done. My other Empty4 instance, i didn't put in 6 hours of pause but rather just a couple of minutes. That went deep into DD too.

In summary, yes, there are still a large amount of luck involve with when the entry was made if original TFJ two TF strength test is used.

See my result of TFJ's set with 6 hours pause and started trade at 1 GMT of yesterday (monday). Far different from yours. It was the best i've seen so far and i am not convinced this will be consistent. I am getting very deep DD today instead.

I am doing very well with Mad guys there are just a few things that have triggered my mind and I am in no way saying that this is the be end and end all but a few things to look for as a trader when currencies start touching daily support in an up move means strength is subsiding ...when a currency does not touch a daily pivot or touches it and moves upwards in a bull market it means the strength remains in tact..Just an observation over the years same vice versa,,,these are just observations looking at daily pivots...

I am conscious of the fact that nice opposite runs have occurred but suspect that runs in the original trend direction may resume shortly....so take care with Maddy trades and with this in mind intervene manually if need be,,,of course it depends on your settings
