Holy Graily Bob 'n Grid

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

Basically my idea is to keep the pairs that go in DD the opportunity to make profits on the next signals generated by hgi and the ea. I have noticed this brings the risk down and increases profits in the long term. I looked back in history to see that for most part if I keep pairs in DD and hope they'll come out BE or little profit in two weeks or more. I noticed ea misses on at least two or more good signal if I don't close DD pairs asap.

I will continue to work on strategies to make our DD problem manageable. I don't think we can get rid of it all together.
I have had some more offsetting opportunities this morning, with GU's rocket ride. I now have 4 trades at -$140. The markets opened this week with me sitting on 8 of them, at just about -$1,000. Overall DD is down to -$450, down from $2,200 when the markets opened. It will be the mirror image of the position when the markets opened if I can get it down to $300 whilst I am watching. I will close everything then and bank the $2,200 profit. We shall see. This will only happen if AChf and GU continue to cooperate.

All this offsetting has released a lot of margin, so HGB can take more trades now.

Stop and Limit trading already has offsetting. I am going to add it to unhedged Stop only trading. It is a neat way of harvesting pips.

The dd sank to just under $400, so I closed out.

The account is now 3318 pips and $2186 better off than it was when I went live with HGBnG a month ago.

Bravo!!, trust me this week still has some good moves left in it and you're now in the position to catch them all. :)

HGBnG is doing really well for me as well. The experimental on the other hand has not been good to me this week.

We shall see what the weeks ahead brings :jump:

Hi Steve, congrats on HGBnG results.

Would it be possible to have option to add market order to "stop and limits orders" mod to have full grid without 2 x "grid distance gap"? We want to be succesful in HGI direction anyhow, thus gap delays reaching this goal. I was thinking to add market order when sending pending limit orders.
This would be like HGB trend/wave + multi extended with limit orders.
Cheers,

I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean send an immediate market order as soon as HGI generates a signal?

I'm running HGBnG OOTB setting in which CloseOnOppositeSignal is true and OnlyCloseProfitableOppositePositions is false. However, I noticed that in the last two days, positions were not closed when an opposite blue wave was formed. Instead, it waited until the 400 pips SL was hit. If the loss positions could be closed at opposite signals, the loss would be a lot less. Please refer to the chart.

I think I may have the wrong settings, would appreciate a lot if someone can help me out.

cheers,

Yes, but only for "stop limit orders"

Today was the 22th trading day that I used HGBnG on a new live account.
Of that 22 day's, I had 21 winning day's and 1 losing.
On that losing day, I lost $0.63........

Some numbers;
- 8 pairs, 7 USD crosses and GBPJPY
- 8.081 pips gained, that's appr. 367 each day
- account grew by 92%, that's over 4% daily
- HGBnG stop and limit used, the former 'standard' one
- trading TF H4
- max DD over 40% (last weekend), now below 10%
- last but not least, some manual intervention from time to time

Steve, I believe you've nailed it!

Nice one Gertje,

Are you using SAPBTM with 1% TP? like you did with the other tests... or just let HGB'nG manage the trades with a bit of manual intervention?

I'm currently running live on 1H TF...
*no filters - HGI is pretty good at triggering low risk and high probability trades, filters are lagging which can probably lead to more high risk and low probability trade... but I may add back the 34EMA for trend direction.
*HGB'nG (nee Experimental)
*and SAPBTM with 3% TP... take profit off the table and start a new round of basket trading..
*stop & limit orders - I'm either right or wrong and stay out of hedge.
*most hands-off approach.

I find that the longer a pair stays in DD or stuck in a long hedge, certain trade opportunities are missed... still experimenting...

Peter
