Just to confirm: Do you have MADDY1.7 running on one chart and are there any currency groups colored red or green?

Thanks for your response. Yes Maddy1.7 is there on one chart and out of 8, 6 currency groups are coloured. i.e., the symbol name column.

Now about 45 minutes back, I got following messages in the experts tab:

I found with earlier versions before this was split into Maddy / MaDTrader that nothing happened if the EA was on a chart that wasn't one of the forex pairs it could trade e.g. (been there done exactly the same thing) XAGUSD - not sure if it's the answer but dragging another currency pair onto the MADDY chart only takes 2 seconds, worth a try ...

I don't know which br0ker you are using, but it seems that it uses the 'pro' extension for its symbols (e.g. XAGUSDpro). However, MADTrader tries to open a GBPUSD (without the 'pro'), which at your br0ker is probably disabled. Try to leave the IncludeSymbols parameter blank, and select the symbols in the Market Watch panel you wish to trade. (In fact, if you run MADTrader and MADDY on the same chart (and it looks like you're doing that), MADDY would have ensured that you have the major 28 symbols selected in the Market Watch panel).

Br0kers that list symbols with different extensions are not doing us any favors. This might be a good reason and time to switch to Global Prime, a br0ker that does things properly.

I had already taken care of that meaning IncludeSymbols parameter was blank and selected the pairs in the Market Watch Panel which I want to trade. My Maddy shows only the major 28 pairs (8 sets of 7 rows each).

If you look at the Maddy input parameters there is one IncludeExtensions where I have mentioned pro where as there is no such input parameter in the Madtrader and that could be creating the problem.

Thanks, I was thinking of trying the same. Will do it and see if that makes any difference.

Glad it worked

For the pairs you do and don't want, as I understand it after Rene explained it in a slightly different way :

• MADDY knows the abbreviations for the individual currencies
• MADDY knows the extensions you want excluded
• MADDY goes through the list of everything your broker offers and in the marketwatch turns on everything that has two currencies in the name unless it ends with something in the 'exclude these' list
• When MADDY gets a signal it passes the base name across to MaDTrader which opens trades on everything visible in marketwatch which contains that name

The way I have found works best for me is to create a new profile with no charts open, delete everything except one currency pair from the marketwatch, open a chart for that pair, drop MADDY onto it and set it up with the extensions I want excluded, then when I click OK the marketwatch will populate with everything MaDTrader will trade and it's very easy to see if it's doing what I expect it to or not.

Hi Guys

Just to give you an idea what I am talking about....here are manual trades that I have taken today on my live trading acc based on the 120/240 ma cross on the 15 min t/frame on Gu...all my conditions have been met with the daily stochs turning up...I have even taken the liberty of opening buy trades from my daily support and booked a decent amount of pips currently Gu screaming up and my intention is to hold this at least for a while,, It must also be noted that crosses like these can and will be followed by wild whipsaws...I am not fazed by this and will look at entering even lower in this case would be a buy..

Now based on this concept I have modified maddy towards this and am happy to say looking good, currently at 600 pips + for today and more so will hold these trades for days to come with the idea of getting into med term trades...a medium term trade can be anything from 100 pips to 500 pips just to give you an idea as to what I percieve a medium term trade to be... I will not post my settings today as tomorrow is reversal thursday for me and am yet to see how Mad trader with the new settings perform
