Hi Zennor,

Just wondering what are the obvious reasons you don't trade the AUDNZD. I heard many times that the JPY and CHF pairs may be dangerous to trade because of their frequent Central Bank interventions but I never heard anything against the AUDNZD pair.
Hi Global, due to the fact that I am trading the London open and this pair rarely moves very much probably the least amount in the first four hours of the London open compared to other pairs, Just not worth trading at these times. My early results showed a poor performance on this pair and then looking at the charts the vast majority of big 1H candles appeared outside the first four hours of the London open.

You could arguably get rid of a few more pairs and they will become apparent over time as the forward testing continues. My aim is to get at least 500 trades per pair and then do some analysis to see which pairs favour this type of trading the most and concentrate on those pairs.

Yes, it was a quiet day for me using CSS as well. Day 2 of my 1 week forward test with small lots :D

I took 4 trades with 3 wins and 1 loss. Net pips = 96, which wasn't too bad under the circumstances.

AUD/NZD pair only trade well when the banks are open and that's by themselves and first half of jpy session. So not going to get much. On the other hand pretty safe pair to trade since they generally won't run far.

I set my basket to take 1.5% after observing that this target is pretty much easily reached as 1%. Today proved to be the case and my target hit pretty easily with only a 1.2% DD.

The added benefit of increasing the basket to 1.5% is that a compounded account grows exponentially faster.

Here are some figures to clarify this point.

365 days in a year, on average 250 trading days, so take 200 trading days, need some time off for holidays and the odd man-flu.

£1,000 1% compounded over 200 trading days = £6316.02 profit.
£1,000 1.5% compounded over 200 trading days = £18643.03 profit.

Zennor can you please post a single trade set on only one pair? I odnt catch how do you use hedging.
Thanks,
Marco.

Marco the system is extremely easy to trade.

At 08:00 UK time I trade every crossover that happens from the 07:00 candle onwards.

So if the 07:00 candle is different from the 06:00 candle I take the trade. If it is the same colour and I'm talking CSS colours here then I wait for the crossover to occur.

Once I am in a trade I trade in the direction of the CSS and trade all crossovers so I could have buys and sells on one pair. These trades tend to lock in a small loss and I just wait for a currency pair or two to make a move and when they do they negate the whipsawing pairs and takes care of the profit.

If you look on page 15 and my description of the method the last picture clearly shows the method in action.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I am currently testing different settings.

May I know if there is a difference between the Super CSS from this thread an the one shared into the CSS WITH HGI thread.

I can note that the CSS versions are the same but the calculations seems different.

Thanks,

Day 3 of my manual forward testing :D

8 trades, 5 win, 3 loss. Net = 104 pips.

I traded the Asian session and the first 3 hours of the London session today. Trades that were still running had a set SL and TP (set and forget).

The Asian session was 5 trades, 2 win, 3 losses. Net = -34 pips
The London session was 3 trades, 3 wins, 0 losses. Net = 138 pips.
Only a single day I know, but I definitely got chopped up in the Asian session which didn't have any volatility. That said, I have now spied another type of setup that I will test at some point. But want to stay focused on this one for now.

So still holding up after 3 days: 182+96+104 = 382 pips. Will do 2 more days of this, so I have a week of forward testing, and then share the approach that I am using, so others can give it a shot. In keeping with Bob's theme - it is simple.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Zennor

Thanks for sharing. Have you hit your target everyday so far? Also once you have calculated your lot size for each pair do you put it into your EAs settings or are you deleting your SL manually for every trade?

I am happy to do some forward testing and compare results

Cheers

Keith
