How can I vary the Lot size? I am using OOTB settings for the lot size and I want to reduce it to about half of what it is at present.

The Lot Size Calculation Mode is set to Per_Cent_of_Cash. How do I vary that percentage?

It's right in the same group.

If % at risk of SL:

Default is set to 1.0 percent.

In response to your other message, it was a margin call. SO = stop out.

Incredible work, I thought, maybe could be possible add some trading entry filters like:
Breakouts
MAs
RSI/CCI
Stochastic Crosses

As extra auto filters?

Hi Geko,
You have done a Great work. I have launched the EA this week and it is doing very weel. I have now a positive float of 825$ with fixed lot size = 0.08

One thing observed here, that StopLosses are not working at all, even with ATR_STOP_LOSS setting at 50 pips and orders triggered don't have any visible SL which are always remained at 0.00
This remark is also valid for TP which is not visible in any order launched. I understand that this concept is working in a basket level, but the things is that if you have 2,3 or 4 pairs going in red and very negative territory it would affect the whole performance.

So here's my suggestion , is it possible to add 2 or 3 additional settings of text which permit to supply specific hard SL & TP for each pair: The setting could be written in a concatened sentence describing after each pair its tp and sl decided and fixed by the user and this setting override the global one like this example:
¦EURUSD-tp40-sl35¦USDCHF-tp55-sl401¦GBPJPY-tp25-sl30 and so on .... (The pairs are separated by a special ¦ caracter and -tp is the code to designate Target Profit for example)

Each pair not mentioned in these settings will automatically take the global TP and SL.
The trailing stop could also be integrated with a such system, may be in relation with a grid of Price action progression user could decide according the pair volatility observed on a daily/weekly basis.
Thanks again Geko for your hard work and I think this EA could have a great potential after some tweaks

I have no trouble with the SL. Are you sure you have enabled it by setting it to true on the line 'Place SL or use it only for size calculation'?

I'm also not keen on the suggestion of adding extra indicators. My view is, why tamper with a good thing? However it's obviously Geko's business and decision to make.

You might care to consider that the code might be watertight and that you are actually to stupid to make use of it properly?

No?

Really?

Guys in general, just because I do not contribute to a thread does not mean I do not keep an eye on it. I watch everything. This is my forum, after all.

effluviens, you are clearly the kind of cretin who lives up to your user name. You are now a member of the Great Unwashed i.e. Subject to Moderation group. You can do bugger all her apart from read posts and download attachments.

It looks as though it is Time To Crack The Whip at Shf again folks. Up to you whether you post moronically, but do not expect a favourable response should you chose to do so.

I am going to spend a few minutes going through the latest posts at SHF now, and will be deleting a few more memberships, I expect.

Read the effing manual, ok?

first of all i want to say a big THANK YOU for this awesome work !!! :)

After a few weeks of testing with different setting i decide to go live with your ootb settings on a small account... specially on this account is, that there is (sorry was) only 157 EUR left on balance but an availably bonus of around 850 eur... so i decide to use equity for calculation instead of balance... in sum - the tradable volume are around 1000 eur - similar to my demo account...

Interestingly - for today my results - with the same .setfile saved - are completly different for demo and live...

Demo - results:
demo_ootb.PNG
Live - results (only today):
live.PNG
live set:
Gekos_Super_Slope_Cross_Dashboard_909_OOTB.set
so live blows (same settings - exept equity instead) around 50 eur within 2 hours

interestingly - i've a lot ob crazy entrys within my journal tab - it seem's that the order close
is initiatet at price 0.0000 - as i darkly remember there are similar behavior during the dottybot experience,
which results in some proof-routines before trade closure...
journal.PNG
Any Ideas how to avoid this? :/

Update: After checking my log files I found that I have those phantom entries also.

Example:

0 01:13:40.546 '2089244164': close order #181014265 buy 0.03 USDZAR at 13.45350 sl: 0.00000 tp: 13.50350 at price 0.00000
0 01:13:40.776 '2089244164': order #181014265 buy 0.03 USDZAR at 13.45350 sl: 0.00000 tp: 13.50350 closed at price 13.46499

Every closed order has a twin order closed at price 0.00000. I am not sure what effect this could have on live trading through?

***

I haven't moved to a live account yet so I can't say with certainty but I haven't had much luck over two weeks with H4-H1-M15. The rapid swings of the lower timeframes don't seem to lend themselves to holding for long, and so, if you don't have a trade manager handling your stops and tp, the results seem close to random. Some days were good, others terrible.

My suggestion is, first, go back to demo. :) Then try testing on higher timeframes, and/or use a trade manager like Tommaso's APTM (all-pairs trade manager). Maybe some more experienced members will have better guidance.

This was an interesting week. First the election nuttiness, that provided a lot of expected volatility. I probably would not have traded this live, but it was great to see how GSSCD handled it.
MN-2weeks.jpg
The biggest surprise was the poor performance of my longer-term timeframe test on MN-W1-D1. I may have cocked things up by interfering with it too often. Maybe closing the trades every week isn't the right move, or maybe I should not have selectively entered trades at the beginning of the week as I did this time. I would expect that this could only have improved results, but ... Maybe it's just too early to say what should happen for a strategy that is playing out over many weeks. I would be interested to know if Leon experienced the same thing.

It's possible that this long-term time frame test is not suited to my impatient personality.

Basically, after starting out strong this test ended up in the red for the week and has just broken even over two weeks.
D1-D1-H4.jpg
D1-H4-H1-2weeks.jpg
The pleasant surprise was how well the daily timeframes performed. D1-D1-H4 and D1-H4-H1 were up about 18% and 11% for the week, respectively. I turned on LT D1 and left it on.

The difference in performance between these two may have been due to my choice (again, credit to Leon for the idea) to use APTM to manage the trades on the D1-D1-H4 test. I used the OOTB settings and it handled things beautifully. Although it rarely hit the tp it kept losses low and offered shirt-protection. As a result I could turn off the basket closures (loss and profit) and just let it run. There might be some benefit to having profit closure on, if one knew at what percent during the day/week the maximum likely profit would be attained but I don't yet know how that could be done.

Also notice how much worse is the win-rate of the D1-D1-H4, it may be that only having two timeframes for filtering made it more inaccurate. Despite this, it still had a higher profit factor, again probably because of APTM.

There are some other differences between those two setups, and I have attached the set files for those who want to follow along. For the most part I left these setups to their own devices and didn't interfere except near the end of the week when I closed out obviously losing trades and let winners run until about 3 hours left in the trading day.

The other timeframes I tested performed abysmally and I will abandon them for now. I'm not saying they couldn't work under the right conditions, but I like that the daily gives me daily positive reinforcement, and banks at least some earnings every day.

Going forward I will leave the monthly test alone to see if it can recover. I will focus on the Daily setups to see what effect tweaking the cross threshold, or the LT MT might have. I will leave the APTM settings to OOTB for now and mess around with them at the end of the month.
