Mine was just about a break-even week with EURJPY going nowhere quickly. All trades closed so that gives the other pairs a chance to get in on some action next week hopefully.

There is my 1H test since the beginning of April. Balance curve is pretty impressive but equity curve is bit dangerous, with some scary DD days. The settings are risky, as I started with 1000€ and 0.1 lots per trade. M15 test didn't survive long.

Thanks for posting your results and even though 0.1 per 1000 is 10x too much leverage if you divide your results by 10 had you followed good advice and traded 0.01 per 1000 you still get 20% + equity growth for 5% drawdown which sounds much safer

My restricted pairs grid + sixths has switched to EURGBP this week so I'm glad my setup wasn't getting too attached to EURJPY. Rene's currency controller working perfectly to provide a limit of just one setup per currency so really happy with this.

Week #4 of my test using TJF's settings on 1 Hour Charts on 16 pairs, but using No Grid.
Week #4 had losses across the board. There were about 62 pips in profit in four closed trades, but down about 326 pips in seven open trades on seven pairs.

So I'm now about 418 pips up for the month. I'm going to leave the open trades running and see how the final week of the month goes.

Have a great weekend!

I closed the final week of June one day early because it is what I would have done if I had been running this live. If you are in the black going into the last day of the month, all sorts of funny movements can happen as the month is about to close, and if the market has a chance to move against you, it will! Last week I left my trades open on Friday because that is what I would have done live as well.

Strategy recap: I am running TJF's 1-hour Sixths strategy on 16 pairs, but with no grid. I was looking to limit the total risk and total number of trades. 14 out of the 16 pairs had trades during the month. There were 41 trades total, which is under 1-1/2 trades per trading day.

I never had more than 12 trades running at once, so you could theoretically run this on something as small as a $1,000 account with .01 lots.

Final results were better than I expected. The final week (which is really the final two weeks because I didn't close trades last week) was + 464 pips on 11 trades. The total for the month of June is + 1208 pips on 41 trades. Total profit was $ 107.62. On my mythical $1,000 account, this would be a return of just over 10%. Drawdown was never more than 4-5% for me, but who knows how typical that is either. I definitely liked the idea of a 10% return on just over one trade per day average. If it averaged even 1/3 that on a regular basis, I'd be more than happy to leave it running year after year.

Would this be typical or an aberration? No idea, but this has earned its own small live account to try to earn its stripes. TJF, thanks to you for all of the great ideas, and to you and Steve for encouraging us to try different options. If the thread stays alive and open, I'll post my monthly totals. I'll give it a three month live trial to see what it can do.

TJF, Steve, and everyone else associated with setting this up, thanks for all your hard work!!

Well done Cozybooks.

:hi:

Please keep posting your results!!

Punters like me will always show an interest even though not public too often.

10% for month compounding will put you in the stratosphere. It may not appear to be very sexy as you have a minimal number of trades going on and other projects are in the headlights at the moment, but it looks very encouraging. It is a much better option than trying to get there by overtrading....

Happily give your setfile a go but a refusal does not offend. :youknow:

Cheers

First, Setfile is attached. In theory it should just be TJF's 1 Hour Grid set file, but with Grid trading disabled.

Now for the more interesting and totally unexpected part. I decided that if I was really considering going live, I needed to more closely examine the 41 trades taken during the month. Here, I thought I was pretty much buying in the lower fourth and selling in the higher fourth, because TJF has the sixths settings set to four instead of six.

But no, I forgot that TJF's settings allowed for trading in the middle, which I probably wouldn't have enabled if I had realized. This probably explains why it was successful.

30 out of the 41 trades were executed from the middle. But it gets better. The 11 trades from the High and Low quarters made only 123 pips for the month - not much bang for the buck. The 30 trades from the middle came out a cool +1085 pips.

So really, HGBDSSFB had most of its success as a range trader, getting in on a new trade when SuperSlope indicated one direction and FB provided a pullback signal. The 200 pip SL TJF was using probably makes sense when range trading - if there's a big move it's probably time to get out.

I haven't done much coding lately, but if I get a chance I'll see if I can figure out how to only allow trading in the middle. I would probably add a few more pairs if I could do that, thinking that it's better to have more of the more profitable trades and less of the less profitable trades.

I've been spending most of my time on Peaky lately, but if this succeeds long term, it would make a nice companion to Peaky, range trading while Peaky is tapping her foot waiting for the next trading opportunity.

Cheers!

Good results and excellent summary. Glad you figured out the trading in the middle bit.
