A couple trades from yesterday:
USD/CHF
CAD/CHF
Thank you Leon!
My most successful trades have sprouted out of the New York session(usually during the US session)
Are you being VERY selective with your manual trading? I think you said that because it is difficult to manage all pairs you just trade up to 10 pairs. But if you get a few signals within a day do you tend to be more selective based on some other criteria and usually leave some of them out?Well my prefered trade is not UsdChf
Not something I do often but consider yourself as one of the potential traders to make it with this systemThanks for your analysis. It really helps to get a view of how you think when trading your own system.
The choice is yours. You can use a jump stop to secure your profit. I have found trades that go in my direction can reverse so maybe a jumpstop is a good path to follow, however this eliminates trades that can turn into hundreds of pips. I see that you use the Td support/res indicator a nice way to get out of trades. I have predominantly used Hgi trend signals in the opposite direction to get out of trades as well as the stoch ma cross in the opposite direction. It must be noted that I also use weekly, monthly and yearly pivot support/ res levels to gauge my exits. I know a mouthful and hard to simulate. Exits are probably the most difficult part of trading. So I am trying to find a good solution for managing the trades a bit more actively, maybe working with some trailing stop or completely naked trading if it feels like a reversal is imminent. As you have lots of experience trading this system, what would you say is the best way to manage your open trades? Opening the trades is rules based so nothing to debate there but have you seen any differences in actively or passively managing the trades? (by passively I mean just closing the trade when you get the opposite signal from the RSIs)
Being selective is choosing positive swap trades. The route I take. I personally don't like swissy pairs from past experiences, but will take them if I have positive swaps. Are you being VERY selective with your manual trading? Not sure if I understand you correctly. Tdesk has transformed and moved very fast and Thomas has done an exceptional job with this. My Tdesk setfile is probably outdated and I need to look at it. I will never look at entering on a solo signal only if I have the power of the masses. A multisignal will be my confirmation. Anyway to get back to your question. If I have a super signal in the opposite direction I will close open trades and trade in the direction of the new super signal. On a separate note (not sure if this is the right thread for this so let me know if its not), I have also started fiddling with TDesk and your setup but I am still in the RED for now as I just opened up a few trades and as you pointed out it might take a bit for H4 HGI to sync and start producing. If I am not mistaken, you open manually with Solo signal and then close at opposite signal. Shouldn't ExitThreshold be at -100 for that? Or do you pay more attention to lets say H4 HGI when closing trades?
Sounds great! I really appreciate the time you are taking to reply. Not something I do often but consider yourself as one of the potential traders to make it with this system![]()
I will try to incorporate DWMPivots into my trading and let trades run instead of cutting them short. The important part I am getting out of our discussion is to maybe stop thinking about trades as separate entities and start looking at the basket as a whole while paying attention to the monthly s/r levels. The choice is yours. Also remember that trades can be seen as a basket. I just closed a basket of 880 pips this week over 8 pairs on my live account. You will know when you get close to your threshold especially when it comes to monthly support/res levels. Anyway, will not ramble on with exits. This is a dynamic field on its own let alone getting the entry right :youknow:
Yes, my mistake. I meant on overall signal. I will skip TDesk for now and try to focus on your manual method. I wish I could provide some positive feedback on this front but I have very little screen time so no point trying to make both systems work. Not sure if I understand you correctly. Great stuff. No its not, I wish I had a vintage jersey though//P.S. Huge Springboks fan here and for quite some time I have been meaning to ask you: Are you wearing a vintage Springboks jersey on your profile pic or am I seeing things?//
