Hi all,

thanks Roby, I started with only 5 couples then I added two more and finally the gold with great satisfaction. The remaining settings from January have always remained the same.

I only helped the pos occasionally to manually close those trades that took too long to close and hung up for several days when the market was flat.

I therefore waited for the negative trades to become positive and when they reached 1% of the balance I closed them including those of the same currency (basket).

This closure in advance of the TP gives certainty for the future, because it is better to take little when navigating in bad waters than to continue and risk that the trades return negative and add up with the new negative ones, increasing DD and decreasing the margin.

To automate what I do manually you could set MTPM with a 1% TP basket percentage that acts when the market is FLAT.

How could you set MTPM to do this?

Or better, we could associate an XY42 indicator to the POS with TDesk and set Desky only for closing.

How about concentrating your strength on this EA with regards to closures on condition?

I have actually stopped using POS live because of the high DD.
I will continue to test it on demo and we will see what happens.

I think that the 1% global closure in MTPM is for all open orders only not per symbol.

Time for an update from my side.

Unfortunately my 2 year old demo got hit by a margincall last month. It is still up 150%, and I will let it run.
It prooves to me that running both H4 and D1 needs more margin/ lower lotsizing.

Luckily my live account [with the same dollup] dodged the bullet, but only because I added some funds when the margin became too low for my comfort.

It is now €40,- away from the high from last year, when it got hit by a margin call.
In a year, I managed to double the account.

In the overview, NZDCHF stands out as a big looser.
This pair contributed a lot to the balance drop from a year ago, and in hindsight it was unnecessary.
If I just topped up the account a little then, I would have survived the DD and come out strong like I did this month.

Look at the moment where the trades closed [blue rectangle], and how price behaved after that....

Exactly! And if/when the proposed maximum leverage of 1:20 gets implemented on GP, you will have to cut that lot size a lot more.

Since we're trading with Gleneagle now, I don't see this happen anytime soon. :
If it does happen, I hope we get enough time to wind down positions.

Yes topping up the account is needed from time to time when trading this strategy

Peaky sure is a strong indicator, but one needs to learn how to trade it.

The indicator is good but in my opinion the excessive DD is caused by this particular peaky EA behavior where the pending orders are tracking price.
Although such a behavior is aimed at giving us better entries, it will also trigger too many trades.
Also many of these opened trades will be at the beginning of the trade series and this will make trade recovery more difficult.
Therefore, I believe the EA would be much safer if the pending orders were not tracking price at all ( like SPB) OR the next down safer option would be to allow tracking only of the 1st trade ( like it is done in the Awesome EA)
