Hi jboy,
There are stop loss in position but it's the way the EA has placed them, they are quite big distances apart though.
If you have a look at my last detailed statement you will see I think about 4 SL's have been hit.
But even on the days that the SL's have been hit the other pairs still made the basket TP for that day. and they still made a profit.

Hi Jth, all,

Great summary of your system jth,
i hope to set this up on the week end time-permitting.
Just a quick note about the big stoplosses.

I'm sitting with a 'buy' on GBPUSD from today 9am time setting, it's plunging and would have hit that SL if i had left it, call me stupid, but i'm adamant the trend will change to go long. i manually changed to allow the trade to still succeed. i'm following the 10.2 and slowkeys manual trading screens to get my direction over 4hr and daytrend. starting to get sell signals, but i got rocks in my heaD.

The way i'm trading now, manually interefering, MIGHT be better for me, but it's still early days, and i have'nt been able to help my gross total at the end of the day so far this week.

Maybe i should just let it SL out of the picture , but the way i have started this, i'd like to see it through, Its just a phone call to the demo manager to get the account restarted.

just increased the SL for a second time while i typed this out.

regards and thanks again jth.

Hi cuzgeorge are you just trading the gbpusd? Because my system works with a bunch of pairs.
I haven't changed the sl settings and as it is at the moment the gbpusd came pretty close to closing out but it is reversing and going up. the gbpchf also came close to its SL and that too is going long. Not as strong as the gbpusd though. We shall see.
The basket profit right now for me is -9% -$2164.00
This might be the bad day I don't want, but we shall see. :D
Regards
JTH

P.S.
I will be continuing to use the same pairs for the next couple of weeks and then look at my detailed reports and see which ones I will filter out. I don't want to go less than 6 pairs though.

Hi Jth,
no , i havent started your system yet. The gbpusd was just an actual example i could refer to about the SL's. They are far away usually, but i'm trying to see how manually trading this system when DD occurs will work. Its just the way i had posted before that i'll trade myself. Dont want to change that until i know for sure it's not going to work.

Hi JTH,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I've just set up your system on two demos. AvaFX and Alpari UK.
For US open.
The alpari opened 5 trades.
The AvaFX opened none.
The EA changed the horizontal lines on some of the charts.
(only GU and GCHF did not change on Avafx)
(only EG and UCAD did change Alpari UK)

I tried dragging them back to where I wanted but the EA moves them back.

I got the settings form the setfile you posted.

Did you ever get this problem?

Hi patman,
Yes i have had that experience too. what i have done is delete the lines and they seem to stay away. i then place my own horizontal line where i want.
i believe that this is something that is coded into the Ea, Maybe Steve can change it so it can be place auto or not placed at all.
or maybe somewhere there is a switch to stop it i'll check it out. but what ever you do don't ask me to change anything in the EA i am only a user.

jth - thanks for posting the UC chart example - as I am not familiar with FXPro broker - is chart time = UK time?

At what time is the non-horizontal red trend line starting (0900AM?) and what are the two points determining the angle of this trend line?

Thanks in advance for your additional clarification!

Cheers & nice weekend to everybody

I get a feeling that you are a newbie.

1 A little research would tell you what time Fxpro broker time would be.
2 the red trend line is placed manually by me.
3 Knowing Paulus's system would help you with this system. http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread. ... ost5640928 as the EA is based on it

The only differences i am doing is the stop loss is way larger than paulus's system and i am using way more pairs than what paulus is using, but the principles are the same.

Hi Steve,
I know you are very busy I wonder if you could change or make a B version of the balls to the wall EA.
What I would like is to keep the EA as is but I would like to make it semi auto trading almost like it is now.
Only start the EA once the Horizontal line is placed with the trigger quotation.
Keep the ability to place a horizontal line where I would like it with the trigger quote,
Can the stop loss take over where the horizontal line is placed once the trade has been triggered.
To automatically calculate the distance of the open of the trade to the sl line and calculate the lot size by percentage of the capital of that space.
To place a TP line 3 time the open to SL distance (better yet is to allow us to choose the amount of times we want to multiply that space)
There is no need for the alligator indicator calculation

Glenn and Wolfie nagged and bribed me into producing a version that does away with the yellow line altogether, and relies on Slope for trade direction, and allows precise time inputs.

Wolfie's Balls is in post 1. It is V 1a. V1 was exactly what they wanted. V 1a includes Baluda's fabulous trading hours function. This brilliant bit of coding allows you to be as flexible as you want with setting your trading times.

Glenn enjoyed himself with this on Friday. I have attached his set file to this post. Glenn has not used Paul's trade hours feature yet, so I have made an estimate of the times he traded, from this pm:
winsteadglenn wrote:Hi, Steve. Better mention that I failed badly with an array of other slope settings, including 1 min, 5 min, and 15 min. That successful run was only from Assian til about the end of the active N.Y. sessions. As you can see, I was pushing it. The BreakEven you see was actually MPTM, but is now embedded.
I am very optimistic about the current settings. Something that might filter out the loser trades could be adjusting the slope threshold up a tad; just a thought. I also used the Matt Kennel FOrCE Load History script just prior to the nice run. Using the Eight pairs cited by JTH. I placed an order for a new Bugatti sports car. Glenn

wolfeman wrote:Hi Steve,

Recent developments in wolfies balls 1b are great. I love the new features and would like to make a couple of requests.

1. The slope still will not work right below 15M. I had many trades this week that were losers because of this. HOWEVER...all the same trades would have been winners had I been using slope angle rather than value. 15M slope angle seems perfect for estabishing bias. I see slopey slope already does this, so I'm hoping you can fix my balls so trade using the slope angle...

2. I didn't realize there was spread factored into the fractal stop until you said you had removed it. I would love an input for a little "padding" beyond the fractal stop as many times price comes back to test the frac. An input that would allow me to add 3 or 4 pips to the stop would be awesome.
The inputs for all this are:
  • FractalsTimeFrame defaults to the current chart but allows you to use a different chart tf if you wish.
  • SlBufferPips adds the buffer to the Fractals-calculated stop loss:
    • the default calculates the spread and uses this as the buffer.
    • any value < 1000 is added to (sell), or subtracted from (buy), the stop loss.
  • you can use either the Slope value, or the angle, or both:
    • UseSlopeValue turns the value on or off. Watch the default, which is false, because not using it is not highlighted in the screen feedback display.
    • UseSlopeAngle uses the angle. Must be rising for a buy and falling for a sell.
:D

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Version 1h possible code typo

Post by fxjoe2 »

Hi All

While visually backtesting earlier today I saw a the yellow line appear on the opposite side of the market than what I would have expected.
I then re-read the thread as well as Paulus's initial explanation at FF.
I then scanned through version 1h and found what I believe might be a typo causing this:

Line # 2514-2516:
if (Fopen > Fclose) CreateHLine(LowLineName, iLow(NULL, PERIOD_H1, 1), STYLE_SOLID, 0,
LineColour);//Market fell
if (Fopen < Fclose) CreateHLine(LowLineName, iHigh(NULL, PERIOD_H1, 1), STYLE_SOLID, 0,
LineColour);//Market rose
I think iLow and iHigh should be swopped.

I made a copy of the code with this change and it seemed to have resolved the position of the yellow line.
I might be wrong, but thought I highlight the posibility.
