Got around 6-7% today 3 trades london session. 3% risk per trade. 1 TP 2 TS at 5 pips

Hi Brian, I'm from Scarborough, ON.
The pairs that got error 130 this afternoon are CADJPY, AUDJPY, EURAUD, AUDCAD, AUDUSD, EURJPY.
EURJPY got through the trade after awhile... strange... must be the spread widening?

I got 2 open trades right now, USDJPY and EURJPY.

The pairs doesn't really give any clue.
There are several reasons for that error, there are lots or error traps in the code. I haven't looked to see if this error trap is in there but I'm betting Steve has it included. When you get these errors, see if any of the descriptions below fit what you see on your screen. (you can ignore the code part of the text below, just understand the concept). What broker are you using?
Also, if you want to know the minimum stop levels etc., there are utilities that you can use (scripts or indicators) generally called "account information" or something like that.

StopLoss and TakeProfit levels cannot be too close to the market. The minimal distance of stop levels in points can be obtained using the MarketInfo() function with MODE_STOPLEVEL parameter. In the case of erroneous or unnormalized stop levels, the error 130 (ERR_INVALID_STOPS) will be generated.
At placing of a pending order, the open price cannot be too close to the market. The minimal distance of the pending price from the current market one in points can be obtained using the MarketInfo() function with the MODE_STOPLEVEL parameter. In case of false open price of a pending order, the error 130 (ERR_INVALID_STOPS) will be generated.

It was due to ask price is higher than the bid/ceiling price. It will retry until the pa drops below the ceiling price to set pending orders.

What do you want me to do about this ds? Here are the alternatives I can think of:

• ignore it. Suits me.
• ignore it, but add an explanation in post 1, along with bloodcurdling threats about what will happen to the dimwits who are to lazy and stupid to read post 1 properly - actually, I should perhaps do this anyhow as there are a lot of those. I will put it on my todo list.
• add a max no of tries before the bot gives up. This will mean that trades will be lost that might have been taken eventually.
• add a MODE_STOPLEVEL filter. This will mean that trades will be lost that might have been taken eventually.

You want an alternative to the above, just say.

Answers from anyone other than ds will be deleted guys. I do not care what you think. By your postings, most of you prove conclusively that you have not a clue what is going on here, and I do not have the patience to deal with you at the mo.

We can't do much about it other than let the bot retry until it gives up. Most of the time pa wont drop below the ceiling. The bot in my charts just give up after few retries anyway. Personally I will not force a trade in since other trades might come up eventually.

Today trades ended with 1% loss due to wrong pair setting after changing over to 1m

I mistakenly let the AUD and NZD pairs to trade for London while I was out for dinner. I was up 7% during Asia and London settings buggered the profit.

Hope today will be better.

Yes, we can but then we get into the realms of how many points above ceiling etc and thingies get messy.

Yep, it is working fine even with current setting, so no point trying to fix it. If averaging 20% per week, why worry about few missed trades.

On other note, the points above ceiling realms, we can easily set it to trigger OP_BUY when bid is below ceiling and ask above ceiling. But I wont use it on my live trading though. I am getting enough trades at the moment. It is more for hardcore trade chasers and to stop them bugging you for error 130

But rest assured the traders here will totally confused anyway
