MTF Trading System - fxozgirl Higher Time Frame spinoff

This was the first trade I took using this system, still hadn't fleshed out the rules at that stage, but still worked out ok!

AUDCHF - Buy 14/8
1. Buy trend as determined on weekly chart
2. 3SMA (green) DID NOT cross above 8SMA (pink) - MISTAKE
3. All 4 MTF MA's DO NOT line up as yellow - MISTAKE
4. Entry trigger candle marked with grey line - 3 CANDLES TOO EARLY
5. Despite everything, trade closed at +150 pips after a retrace to the JS

AUDJPY - Buy 15/8/14

1. Up trend as determined on weekly chart
2. 3SMA (green) is almost above 8SMA (pink) - again an early trade taken 1 candle too early
3. All 4 MTF MA's line up as yellow
4. Trade closed after a retrace to the JS line +200 pips

AUDUSD Buy 29/8 currently -220 pips
CADJPY Buy 21/8 currently +248 pips, JS +150 pips
EURGBP Sell 26/8 currently -63 pips
EURUSD Sell 22/8 currently +346 pips, JS +300 pips
GBPJPY Buy 26/8 currently -57 pips, missed being able to move trade to BE+5 whilst I was away

GBPUSD Sell 25/8 currently +444 pips, JS +400 pips
NZDCAD Sell 1/9 currently +74 pips, BE +5 pips
NZDUSD Sell 22/8 currently +184 pips, JS +100 pips
USDCAD Buy 20/8 currently +48 pips
USDCHF Buy 20/8 currently +241 pips, JS +150 pips
USDJPY Buy 10/9 currently +48 pips

Thanks for sharing! Looks really good. I am having a problem with the Multi Moving Average. It seems to work on my Cowboy IBFX platform - even tho it doesn't compile - does it need anything else? I am trying to set this up on a different broker and it doesn't want to cooperate

Dumbass Empty4 can't have variable names using the "." anymore so I've replaced them all with an underscore so this one should work on all builds.

Looking at the gbpaud I see 3 long daily candles and the Multi MA are all still short. Would you wait till the Multi MA turns long and then back short before entry or would each daily candle have been a short entry?

Hey, thanks a lot for sharing this OzGirl!

One (probably dumbass) question: can I use the original MTF template for this, or do I need to use the attached indis to create a proper template for this spinoff? Everything seems to be showing alright but I want to make sure. All I did was shift the TF to the D1 and W1 on my charts (I use 2 charts per pair always opened).

The weekly trend is down, either of 2 things will occur:

1. We are in the midst of a pullback waiting for the resumption of the down trend
2. There is going to be a change of trend

Based on the markets at the moment, my gut feel is that this is just a pullback, however I could be wrong

The main thing is though we don't want to be caught going short if it does become a change of trend, so before I will place a trade I am waiting for the market to show me its hand...that is, I will be waiting for at least 2 completed down candles AND for all the dots to be red on the Multi MA before placing a trade.
