11.0 trading sessions

Actually the USA session starts on the half hour 830 am EST. The half hour before that is usually very quiet.

I hope this is not a silly question... I applied the 11.01 sessions indi yesterday and this morning it didn't update the lines from NY close until 1 hour after Japan open.. does it do that for anyone else? Any idea why? I can't find anything in the settings that would need changing to get the lines to appear on start of Asia.
I deleted and reapplied the indi but still no lines. Then bingo after Japan had done it's move they appeared like magic!

It appears we have broker conflicts with the indi. I reset the times to match the broker I am with so they open with the same time as the market opens. You can go into the program and reset the times or we can wait until the code writers can fix the issue. An alternative would be to use the 1 open MA with lines drawn 10/20 above and below the MA. It would be accurate for the first 15 minutes on the 15 minute chart and you could set your trades.

If I can make a recommendation and share my practices which have been successful for my trading:

I use 8:00 am EDT as the start of the US session. This comes from my experience from working on a live trade desk for a broker. All of my programs, session programs, advisers are based on 8:00 am. EDT
Sidney Session: 5pm EDT
London: I use 2:00 am EDT
Asian session: 7 pm EDT

I have posted these time periods many times in other forums, along with corresponding GMT times. These are the periods I recommend to ALL of my students, etc. and have done so for 16 years.

The latest indicator from Elixe (click) has no problems showing the right session times. This one should be included in post 1.

I had some feedback from people having a 15 min shift with the indicator, seems like adding leap seconds in the session start solved it.

attached is the last 1.03 beta with vertical lines added to help read the AC and the various indicator you might add.

We might have issues with DST, I have to clarify this in a future version.

hi guys havent been around for a while, another marvellous strategy what can i say bob, terrific stuff, and thanks to elixe, bold trader etc, think will give this a try fit in well with my life style, what pairs could anybody suggest for London and new york session , just set it up on all pairs and put a load of pending orders on see what happens, cheers

Well the indi in the first folder is BT original indi from his blog with lines added. They have his times in them. That was the one i did my backtests on and came to my conclusions. I would say now I am as confused as a termite in a yo yo. I am going back to the original indi until a proven one is developed. I now haver a half dozen in my folder and I am deleting them all except the original. The 2nd one I posted has been deleted and the new one is not set up right yet and should not have been posted. It is off and uses numbers I have no idea how to manipulate. So its back to the first folder original session indi for me. It works on the Citi Forex I have been using for trading and I cant do or undo what other brokers do with this indi. SInce BT seems to have used this one successfully for a period of time I would not know what issues it has with other brokers but it works on mine.
