Howdy, thought id try gomarketsaus. Deposited 1000 NZD which is roughly 500 GBP.

I paid the 25 NZD sending fee from a NZD bank account and ive been stung 82 NZD / 41 GBP somewhere in the middle by an intermediary/GO!

Ive recently moved over to NZ (4 months ago) from the UK and use NZforex for most transactions outside of my trading activities.

has anyone else been stung like this with GO? They have an account in Holland and one in Australia. Am i getting penalised because i used NZD ? they say funding cant be denominated in AUD from outside and i have questioned them on this before i deposited... "Unfortunately our NZD bank accounts are only located within Australia."

is this a little sideline to make money? or am i being too cynical because nzforex dont rape me anywhere near this... glad i didnt put in 20,000 NZD.

what are your experiences going via holland and depositing GBP?

Most likely this is as a result of your NZD being converted to AUD by the Aus bank at their ridiculous exchange rates. I'd assume the bank has pocketed the money, not Go.

I had similar issues when I transferred AUD to an AUD account based in NZ. My bank stuffed up and transferred it as NZD. It took six weeks of fighting, but eventually when I threatened to go to the banking Onbudsman, they refunded the difference between the exchange rate I would have got through the broker and the bank. (Mine was over $500 as a gift to the bank).

Yes I think GO are in the clear.

I transferred from my Westpac account here in NZD, in NZD to the NAB.

I have actually been charged 10% of the transaction!

I have asked Westpac to work out what they did and what intermediary they used. So far I haven't heard a thing so will go in today and kick off.

I have a Bully Pepperstone Razor account. The spreads are quite low and support has been good whenever I had a question. ECN commission is higher than some others out there but since spreads appear to be low it is OK.

Execution times usually fast but can open/close can take a few seconds at times. They are using the Integral liquidity.

I open a demo account with Bully Pepperstone a while back. One problem that I encountered with them was that your trades got freezed most of the time. There must be funny going on somewhere. They also invest your funds somewhere else.

If you live in the UK, there is one criminal you should seriously consider.
VantageFX, but you have to have Jay Mawji as your client liaison.
The lad is brilliant, he takes calls at all hours, is always happy to help, resolves issues very quickly and best of all with no bullshit.

FWIW, the trashing of Tradestation was "they bought Cowboy IBFX and now don't accept Canadian accounts." No comment about how they actually perform as a crim.

As far as actual execution &etc, I've been quite satisfied with TS. I've placed hundreds of trades with them and have in general been happy with fills. Considering that they have no commissions, they do quite well. I compared the bid/ask spreads with Interactive B-rokers and found they were at least as good. Execution-wise IB is usually considered to be very good.

I've never seen any evidence of stop-running or artificial price spikes. You can't run Empty4 with Tradestation but they do have their own very powerful EasyLanguage platform. It does things differently to Empty4, and some things (such as multi-symbol EA logic) are harder on TS than on Empty4, but in general it's quite powerful. Very importantly, their backtester is fast, ACCURATE, and can be trusted.

im still using Cowboy Go Markets. just read the stuff on forexfactory sounds like Go has gone off the boil.
My personal experience - There is slippage, the server goes offline from time to time when their customer services cant see anything.
Nothing too bad yet compared to what I have been used to in the past from other "brokers." Might have a look at FXCM. My friend uses alpari uk & activ trades and he hasn't had a problem. Its all very subjective though....

I reckon Cowboy Go Markets is a no go for me at least.

First they announce to every live account member that the L plate (nano account) will be no more and they have to transfer their funds to a standard account by 1st May 2012 and have open positions closed by 1st June 2012.

Another deal breaker is what happened to my FR 5.1g MOD DEMO account.

Scary thing is they keep saying their DEMO feed is the SAME as their LIVE feed!

I use Oanda's FxTrade for its 1.2 pip spread on the Euro.

For EAs, since I am in the US I will probably go with FXDD since they have a way of circumventing the hedging rules. I hear PFGBest may also, you can not trade micro lots with them. FinFX was also cited.

As far as charting, I just saw Cowboy IBFX offers free with their platform autochart.com's automated chart pattern recognition features of all the pairs down to the 15 minute chart, which I like. This may make me trade more long term.

I've been using TOS for charting, but its range bars are horrid, and would like to ween myself of it eventually to free up comp resources.
