SERIOUS WARNING

Most Forex traders lose all their money.
Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
To trade this robot, you have to understand:
- How to use EA's.

Intro
Shelley's Trading Fiend is an automation of Shelley's trading method described at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =16&t=3827. Read her post 1 for a description of her trading. Download the indi's from her thread. STF does not use them as all the indi code is subsumed within the EA; you might want them on your charts to see what is happening.

Inputs
Leave the Moving averages inputs, SMMA W1 Crossover Inputs and D1 3/8 Moving Average Inputs alone unless you understand the trading method. Read the attached user guide for a description of the others.

The TradingTimeFrame input
This must be the time frame you intend to trade as the EA bases all of its calculations on it. This allows you to change time frames on your chart to view different scenarios without disturbing the bot. The downside of getting this wrong is something you will discover to your cost. Remember this is a Daily trading strategy, so the default is 1440.

Chart screenshots
The EA can take a picture of your chart when it opens or closes a trade. Use this to post pictures here if you suspect that the EA has not behaved as expected. There is a section of inputs just underneath the minimum pips section, with inputs to turn this featureon/ off and to adjust the height and width of the snap. Files are saved with the name "ChartScreenShot" and the ticket number, when the EA opens or closes a trade. Navigate to the files via File/Open Data Folder/MQL4/Files. Remember to delete these files from time to time to avoid clogging up your disk drive.

Different brokers = different D1 candles
Shelley and I are fortunate to be able to be clients of Global Prime. GP's D1 candle starts with the recognised start-of-day for Forex trading, which is the market open in Sydney. This is 22.00 GMT. You may not see the same results if you are trading with a broker with a different D1 start time. There is nothing I can do about that, so it is up to you to discover for yourself whether STF can work for you.

In conclusion
STF will take some time to start sending trades, so be patient. You are going to love what you see once she gets going. Have fun.

Here are the trades STF took last week whilst we were coding & testing. All trades were taken Monday & Tuesday, STF kept us out of the chop for the last part of the week.

Hehe. Not sure how many demo trades the bot took tonight, but it was a lot. I did not have any of the over-trading filters enabled. My margin level is down to a figure that would have me sweating were it an actual cash account.

Lots to watch over the coming days.

Hmmm. The 130 or so positive pips those trades have generated in a few minutes would probably have had me closing them down right now on a live account.

Going to leave them running for now and see what happens.

By the by, remember the current platform is utter crap. The shitwits at CrapperQuotes have excelled themselves. Again.

At random it: closes entire platforms; shuts down charts; deletes EA's from charts.

Check from time to time that your crapform is still functioning as it should be. It will not be, from time to time.

I know many programmers and users that have left the crap platform that you are referring to. Most of them switched over to C Trader. Just passing some information to you.

Sadly, we are stuck with it. For now, at least. Do you fancy porting mptm, for example, over to C Trader? Or C Algo? Or anything else?

Assuming your broker supports C Trader? Or C Algo? Or anything else? Which GP doesn't. GP is my broker of choice, the SHF Official Broker, and the broker that only a lunatic fails to sign up with unless they are unlucky enough to live in the US. You do. Bad luck.

There will come a point in time when CrapperQuotes goes bust. The brokers will then be forced to offer an alternative platform. Us coders will be forced to recode all our useful stuff. Shouldn't take long, given that most of the stuff we are called upon to code is rubbish and can safely be ignored. SHF company excepted, of course.

In the meantime, all we can do is the best we can and continue to warn people that the platform upon which they are relying is coded by retarded monkeys with the combined intellect of a diseased lettuce leaf.

Frankly, merely pointing out that there are better alternatives to what the rest of us are stuck with is not helpful. Rather like me pointing out that there is a better broker than the one you are stuck with. Sucks, doesn't it?
