You can still keep an eye on my dailyclose demo, even with all the Empty4 shutdowns and unloading of EAs I think it only missed one days trading, I could be wrong it gets to a point when Empty4 wears you down.

Draw down is part of game. Since we have not stops and we are not crossing pairs when market moves opposite of our trades most are going to get hammered. I did like how this was going with very little draw down but we are on a learning curve and ideas you have to help is welcome. I don't see this as worse possible case. Nothing major has happened. This is normal retrace with possible trend change. Look how much gj has came back. The idea is to be helpful with ideas to either see the problem so as not to take the trade or how to get out early and re enter at a better price and or direction. That is my take6y588 » Wed Oct 15, 2014 7:51 pm wrote:The account demo has a drawdown of -A$2002.70, are you able to perform some analysis on the current drawdown? Has it reached your worst case scenario?

Hello All...
I was very excited to find this thread, since it is exactly what I was looking for.
I Hunkered down and read through all the pages of the original MTF thread and all the pages of this thread.
I understand the methodology and have setup most of my screens.
But I cannot seem to find the indicator for the MTF Moving averages that show the 4 rows of dots.
I have looked everywhere.... I did find indicators named "Multi Moving Average" and "MTF movign Average" but neither of them worked. They wouldn't attach to the charts.
I noticed that on all the screenshots, the indicator used is "ALEX757500". I have run searches but cannot find it anywhere.
Can someone please point me to where I can find it ??
Thanks.

hey everyone this is long term trading so we have to expect some opposite moves. Now the question is to we add to our positions as if reentering using the reenter rules or do nothing or just give up on this whole thing. I say take second positions per the reenter rules. Maybe we can do that on the 10% acct and see what happens. Of coarse more risk but also more gain.

Hi Guys,
just letting you know that I am still around and keeping up my demo
The last few weeks have been typical in terms of trading the higher timeframes. We are taking our direction from the weekly charts and often there are only 2 -3 trend changes in a year, some pairs have not changed trend in more than a year and then some have changed more regularly. This is where we find out who has the temperament to trade these time frames because not everyone does and that's ok too. We all need to find the medium that works for us.
For me personally, I spend 10 minutes a day on these trades and if I can average 10% per month over a year then I will be ecstatic...even 5% per month and I will be ecstatic. We need to remember (or learn) that more trades more often does not necessarily make us more profitable and that's what I'm after...profits!
In terms of our current trades, of course they are going to go into drawdown within their trends. It would be unrealistic to believe that trades won't range within their trends whilst still maintaining the existing trend direction. Notwithstanding, Gary is helping me out at the moment to try and identify the following:
1. Do we just hold our trades until they either close in profit (at BE +5 or JS) or we close them at the change of trend - this is how I'm trading now
2. Do we set a SL based on ATR or some other tangible - the problem with this is your loss is locked in no matter what, which is why I rarely trade them, but does allow for us to perhaps re-enter at a better position
3. I haven't given much thought to multi level trading, but this could be a good option provided we are careful with our lot sizes
Attached below is my current trades, closed balance is currently $7197...so still an increase of 43% in 2 months which is not too shabby. Floating balance is $5839.
I too believe that our trades are turning around slowly but surely starting to head back into the direction of the trend...patience grasshopper

I never could get the Multi Moving Average to work, but if anyone else is having this problem, I found the same indicator on the Empty4 code page.Cherry » Sun Oct 19, 2014 10:51 pm wrote:It's the Multi Moving Average Indi in post 1. Don't know why it won't attach to your chart, sorry.

I have been trading this method for about a week - with fantastic results.
For the week, I am up about 900 pips.
Here's a screen shot of one of my accounts.

Well done!! How I admire talented people! I tried to change the dashboard into W1/D1 but it didn't change the whole lot. I like the way you have it on each chart also. Neat!mbednarz » Fri Oct 31, 2014 12:03 pm wrote:I have been trading this method for about a week - with fantastic results.

Is that version of histo you have set to the same 1 / 20 ma's? It is very different to what either the weekly or daily is showing on the same pair for me?! Is it weekly or daily? Mine is not changing like that.
