Thanks Bob, will test it

The arrows will be adjusted to the 60 MA on the indicator right?

On the other hand, using the Steve's Ea Ver. 1i it has to be adjusted to the 60 MA or just changing the settings on the Moving Average section will be enough for the arrows to appear in place acording to the 60 MA trend?

I'm not a coder, so excuse me in advance and thank you very much again.

Arrow Question

CT trade as I stated early must be the same color as the bar, green with green and red with red. If they are not the same color you leave it alone. If you took a trade then the original arrow would have given you a SL which in this case would have been hit and you would been out. Obviously the arrow would quit moving with the bar close. We are looking at several solutions to the moving arrow. One which would freeze it at first spot, the other would be mark the spot but let the arrow move. Either way when signal is given you either are in or not in and the trade goes positive or negative.

I will try to post some picks of best trade scenarios later.

Hey everyone,

I am new to this, been trying to catch up by reading the posts, so I am not sure if I have missed something that might have been posted somewhere else... but I noticed Bob had said (above) the arrows should correspond with the candle color - green with green red with red. ( I am taking it that is when you would either trend trade or counter trade).

But on the charts there are instructions to use the pink arrows only with green candles and the green-yellow only with red candles.

Also when installing the v.11 I noticed the 10.4 SSG 100 only MQL4 file was 0 bytes (My computer asked if I wanted to replace the one that was with version 8 - that's how I noticed it.) I did and when opening the template there were no lines xx.000 or the 20 pip lines...did I do something wrong? SHould I put the v.8 SSG 100 back.
And....sorry again for my ignorance.... but Bob had mentioned there was a 240 (Monthly trends) - and a 60 (Weekly trends) MA that was now in the system. Is the 60 another template (I only saw one in the download) or is it something that it just re-figures automatically depending on the time frame you are on.

Any help is so appreciated....thanks - and thanks for all you guys do have done and are doing - it is a true blessing.

Those are trend trade colors and I dont think I ever mentioned that.

Yes that is what I said. Those are CT colors.

Also when installing the v.11 I noticed the 10.4 SSG 100 only MQL4 file was 0 bytes (My computer asked if I wanted to replace the one that was with version 8 - that's how I noticed it.) Check the color of your lines. They are black and can just be seen. If you want to see them change them to yellow or white.

In the notes section I did say there was no template for the 60. If you want to try it you close the 240 and add the 60 to the screen. Then save the template for a new color. If you really are that new to Empty4 and dont know how to change things just let me know and I will explain further.

Any help is so appreciated....thanks - and thanks for all you guys do have done and are doing - it is a true blessing.
See notes above. The trend trade arrow colors are darker than the explanation on the first couple of pages. I hope that does not confuse you but the info with the template is correct that is why I put it there as a reminder.

I dont think so. Steve's EA works off of the signals of the indicator so if you change indicators it should work, HOWEVER, I am just guessing and assume that to be true. I havent tried Steve's EA with this yet.

Not a clue what this is about and not keeping up with developments here and just happened to come across this because of forum software stuff dragging my attention to it but: yes my ea works off the ea posted in post 1 of my thread.

Not a clue whether the indi in my post 1 is the one it should be working with because I am not up to speed with events here. Someone needs to tell me if it needs to be working with something different.

Preferably in my ea thread and not here. Don't assume I am keeping up with events here. I am not. Someone needs to tell me if the ea needs to use a different indi. As I occasionally remark; there is only one of me but there are lots and lots of you.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Bob,

Thank you for clearing up the arrows for me.

I looked a little closer at the examples in the thread and noticed the lines are only in 11.7. I was installing 11.0 Where do I find 11.7?

Thanks again.

240 MA BUY.ABOVE_SELL.BELOW

Post by Nidolap »

Very quiet here. :)

Well I have been using this last week on H1 timeframe with very nice results. My only difficulty is the same as always, where should we place TP? Should it be the same distance as SL on a 1:1 R/R? Should it be scalping for 10 pips and take the momentum? Should it be only on market volatility hours and close after that?

Maybe these answers come with experience but this as been my struggling on trading for quite some time.

Regards!

I used to think about these things and then I said. I can make a profit every day and I can trade every day. If I make a profit every day my account goes up and I am happy. The only way I know about hanging onto trades is either:

1. Knowing the fundamental behind the move (like last Friday's JPY moves)
2. Or using the CSS (they are both moving in opposite directions away from each other).
3. Using a trailing MA line that closes out a trade when it is hit.
4. Or my favorite just take the profit around the mid point of a trading session. The majority of the time that will be all for the present move.

Almost all the time I just take the profit and move on. Account grows, I make money. I have found out the worst thing that can happen to a trader is to see a profit and then see it disappear. That is more damaging to one's Psyche, than I pocketed 40 pips, dang it went a 100. Oh well, next.
