Secret Bob's Basket

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

Seriously, seriously impressive EA. :yahoo:

Put it on an Axi demo account this afternoon to play further and at one point miscalculated the lot sizing a tad but thought I would leave it there and explore it's possibilities a bit as more of a scalper with the bigger lot size and quick in/out. Anyway, a few short hours later and quite a few "Can't trade - not enough margin" messages and it was all nicely done at +30% profit for the day up 600-odd pips.
Fantastic. I am impressed.
Did I say I was impressed? A donation is winging it's way to your PayPal account right now in fact!
Received and humungously appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks once again!

Jeff

PS Before the roasting starts, there is no way I would suggest putting up a live set like this, but it did highlight for me the possible benefits of exploring this EA as a "fairly high frequency trader".
Actually, I think this is a valid experiment and most of us would be grateful if you could continue. 10 high value pips are much easier to achieve than 100 low value ones. It is just the numbers look so scary.

Those of you with experience of all thingies EA related and with a sympathetic mind-set for the noobs, please keep an eye on

Hi guy's,

I have a gut feeling I'm on to something with SBB.
Seeing last weeks JPY-moves cut short due to a fixed $-value, I have been thinking about how to capture these moves and keep them.
Since I don't have a bath, I did the thinking in the garden sitting in the sun...

The entry's of SB are awesome, but when and how to TP to make the most out of it?
I set up a demo, trading 26 pairs on the M30 [I demo'd M30 last week and was happy with the results] and taking all the TREND-trades without a TP. I intend to close all and everything on friday at some point.

Since last night, 44 orders were fired, and those went into GREEN big time [my 'old' demo closed a 2% basket already]. See picture, nearly 1.000 green pippies floating.
SBB M30 no closure.png
Now I start to wonder if we need to start thinking about some basket-trailing, but then again, at what distance.
Any thoughts?

How about working out the average pip per trade gain when baskets close and using a % of that with the adaptive pip jumping stop feature in MPBM? So say the average pip gain is 10 pips then use adaptive jumping stop of 6 or 7 pips? No doubt a bit of trial and error would be needed to get the right balance.

Mmmm, interesting suggestion.

At the moment I only run MPBM to record the max DD. SBB records the max profit, so I know what the extremes were during the basket.

Maybe I'm overthinking all this, and should just set a TP of 10% and sit back and check how often it is hit during the week,.....

Due to the OOTB settings of the BE- and jumpstop, 450 pips are now banked (3,75%) and another 600 remain floating.
