Secret Bob's Basket

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

I can't get the MPTM ATR TP to work, so I changed my gameplan.
In stead of MPTM handle the TP, I divided the pairs into ATR-groups, with ATR60 ranging from 12-17, 18-22, 23-27 and 28+
Then I setup a SBB for each group, with its own magic# and TP; 15, 20, 25 and 35.
Till now I set no SL, might be usefull in the future, time will tell.

To speed things up a bit, I allowed both Trend and CT trades to be opened.

Since last night markets opening, 22 trades closed for a profit of 433 pips, max DD has been 563 pips.

To be continued....
try the attached one, here should ATR function work I modified this one for some user time ago..

Chugging along nicely, max DD hasn't been reached anymore today, still at 563 pips.
Changed back to original setting, SBB to enter, MPTM to set TP @ 1xATR60

- 34 trades closed, banking 626 pips
- current DD 209 pips with 38 open trades

I'm getting flashbacks .... :lol:
First day finished with 1138 pips in the bank on the new demo.
DD floated between 100 and 300 pips.
Maybe not the best time to test with the bankholiday tomorrow, will see how it goes the rest of the week.

Gertje from your trials with the basket closure did you conclude that good trades were getting closed prematurely too often and that is why you have gone to individual trade TP levels? That's how it looked in my trials last week. SSB was working hard to offset bad trades meaning a lot of -pips had to be made up. Then at closure often trades could have run much further. SSB did manage to overcome some serious DD though which means it was generating a lot of pips. I am doing basket closure again and have had one 200 pips on M30 and one 350 pips on H1 DD similar to what you are seeing.

Hi,

I'm just trying all sorts of things to be sure to give it all it's potentially got.

On my small live account, I still have the 2% basket closure running, closed 1 yesterday, and is floating slightly positive at the moment.

The ATR-TP generates a huge amount of pips, and again, DD as well.
Till now, this week 1.925 have been banked, with a max floating dd of 1.956 pips.... :evil:
I'll let it run through the week, and go through the history to see where the culprit was, in the Trend or in the CT trades. For sure there must be a profitable way to trade this baby.

I just had a quick look at the code and AtrTpMultiplier isn't referenced in the main body of code

Code: Select all

extern double AtrTpMultiplier=0;//0 stops atr being used for tp

I think this needs to be insterted into void ReadAllAtrValues()

Code: Select all

AtrVal[cc]*= AtrTpMultiplier;
and this into double CalculateTakeProfit(int type, double price)

Code: Select all

 double TP = GetAtr(OrderSymbol(), AtrTimeFrame, AtrPeriod, 0);
   TP*= AtrTpMultiplier;
I think its better to let Steve make the changes if necessary :smile:

Nice spot theforexedge. Thanks. :clap:

The update is more complicated than theforexedge suggests guys, so don't try to make the fix yourselves. Use V 1i from post one if you want an ATR take profit.

:xm:
Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Hello Steve!

While you test the SBB with IndiIntervalReadSeconds=0, it doesn't work as intended when >0. The condition

Code: Select all

      if (TimeCurrent()  >= OldReadTime + IndiIntervalReadSeconds )
works only for the first pair in the list, then all the others are skipped. Fixed it by turning the static variable into an array:

Code: Select all

      static datetime OldReadTime[];
      ArrayResize(OldReadTime, NoOfPairs);
Then added the index where it is required. Also this line needs to be moved inside the above mentioned condition.

Code: Select all

         SecretTradeStatus[cc] = none;//Default
Haven't checked how the variable OldReadBarsTime works, but it probably needs the same modification.

Cheers :)
