hi Aussiedoc,

Did you try the Ducks EA, how about the EA performance compare to your manual trading?
I expect to know the difference between automatic and manual trading,

might be better to run it semi auto when you can see definite strong trending. the ranging periods we've had lately after the sharp spikes up and down just killed it the last few days.

Hmmm... This looks good:)

I wonder if we could use the ducks to feed a millipede on the higher timeframes... Just send a series of pending orders in the direction of the trend... Could do the same for retraces, and delete any pending order when the price action moves far enough away, (say, 5,000 points).

Latest update in post 1, in response to this pm from Doc. I have added my comments in red:

"Can 'Ducks' be modified to do the following:
1. as default
- open a trade on either the same candle as, or the one immediately following, all the ducks quacking in unison? Best leave it as it is. If you want trades sent as soon as the ducks quack in unison, you will have umpteen charts sending calls to 4 custom indis at every tick and your machine will slow to a crawl.
- open a trade with either a lot or % of a/c balance value? What do you think the RiskPercent input is about?
- open a trade with the TP being when the 3&8MAs cross? Not without some complicated coding.
- open a trade with a static SL value = entry - high/low 3 candles back? Oops. Forgot this and will add it later

2. with the option of:-
- switching off the 50MA on the H1, H4 & D1. The input is StrangleDuck2. Set it to true to disable the quacker
- setting a specific TP if desired?.What, pray, do you imagine the TakeProfit input is for? Decoration? Input window filling?
- setting a BE pip value = Entry - SL The problem with doing this is that the original distance will be lost on a platform restart. It is not possible to overcome this without getting into saving files on you hard drive - files which are themselves open to corruption and accidental deletion. Best not to get into automating that, but you can do it manually when you check your trades.
- using the BE value as Jumping SL that moves only if/when the PA moves forward by 4 candles? The new input JumpAfterCandles does that unless my coding is wrong

Latest update in post 1, filling in the bit I forgot that I referred to in my previous post:
"- open a trade with a static SL value = entry - high/low 3 candles back" It always did do this (reproduced from post 1: "If StopLoss is set to zero, then the stop is calculated by taking the high (sell) or low (buy) of three candles ago - as per Doc's pm to me.
", but I have added an input to allow you to set it at different candle shifts - SlAtHiLoCandlesBack, which defaults to 3.

I hate to ask such a stupid question, but i can't get the EA to attach to my chart. I've not had this problem with EAs before, so i'm wondering if anyone might have an idea as to what i'm doing wrong. Sorry to bother you with this, but very frustrated. I have both the Ducks EA and Ducks in the expert folder. Have the Ducks Template loaded in the template folder. Thanks for any help! T

Delete the EA from your Empty4 and then reinstall it. That's right, reinstall the same one you just deleted. Sometimes when you paste a new file, it just doesn't work right and a reinstall does the trick.
