Forcing build update

I know this thread is about forcing a build update, but you guys should really be doing everything in your powers to avoid it.

Somewhere at SHF there is a thread about how to revert to a previous version of Empty4. I contributed a GP terminal that works for me. Buggered if I can find it now. Sing out if you are a GP client and my 6xx terminal can work for you - I will attach it here.

If you run this bat file this will stop the automatic update. You will need to swap the terminal for the one attached (build 670).

I'm not sure this will work after reboot windows but it can be run again before opening Empty4.

Anyone know where this should go on server 2008 so that it works from start up?

Build 7xx have been absolute rubbish for me. latest 735 I think just constantly rebooting. Since I set up a few instances of 670 they've been as smooth as butter

Give it a try guys. You cannot possibly do any worse than the latest jerrybuild crap7xxx. I am lucky because I am a Global Prime client who kept hold of a pre jerrybuild crap7xxx terminal and so am able to use that whenever I start a new platform.

jerrybuild crap7xxx makes Windows look like a saint. 'nuff said?

I'm surprised I haven't punched a hole in my monitors over the last 2 months

I've been operating at anger level 10 which is never good. Empty4 7xx couldn't have come at a worse time with all the EA's you have been busy knocking out.

And just like that the anger was gone

Ok, so sorry to put you on the spot here, but does this mean I can add this thread to my wrup on Sunday night as the temporary solution to all the jerrybuild troubles people have been experiencing of late?

Horrible pressure I know, so feel free to absolve yourself of responsibility and say, "No".

Yes of course. I didn't write the batch file myself, found it online. I know a few of us have been complaining about Empty4 but I'm surprised more people haven't been driven insane with all the problems.

The last instance of Empty4 build 7xx literally closed every time I clicked a button. So searched for a solution.

Another tiny program I found which has been very useful is Restart on Crash. Basically a super basic version of CNS autoboot. If minimised goes in the sys tray and will restart your Empty4's if they crash. Quite handy if using build 7xx Handy because before I had checked my Empty4's and they were all closed.

Hopefully some people might find it handy.

Thanks for the 6xx build Steve and thanks Romsyam for the .bat file, I couldn't get it to accept an alteration on the command line as '/skipupdate' so that has solved it.
Goodbye build 7xx, it was never going to work between us.....
