Can Empty4 EA's Use Range Bars

Hi,

I've been manually backtesting strategies using thinkorwsim, and have a few that are profitable, which I will share in time here.

My new strategies all use range bars, can the programmers make EAs using them ok? I'm just wondering, because if not I'll go back to time bars for my initial backtesting. Thanks.

Yes its possible. Its not easy to automate renko or range bars in Empty4 but Steve already coded a few. Well he can code anything I guess

Plus its not that essential to hard code renko or range bars in the EA for most of the strategies. You can simple start any EA on the renko/rangebar loaded chart. Anyway I am no expert.

Just to confirm what Alpenkorps wrote, if the strategy is based on the size of the bars, then an ea can work with them because they are drawn on the chart. For example, if the strategy says go long after 2 rising bars, then the ea simply works out whether the preceding two bars were risers, and does not care if they are range bars or not.
