THE GANN TRADER

Hello folks

The Gann Trader came out from the Gpd Usd Intraday System which I developed in forex factory

The GANN Trader is however focused on the daily charts and uses the hourly charts for re-entries in the direction of the daily trend as defined by the Gann 8 SMA 8 combo.

THE TRADING SYSTEM

Buy Signal

price closes above gann 8 and 8 sma. ADR indicator is green showing market has increasing ATR(good volatility). You can either use a buy stop 5 pips above the high or enter at market depening on what suits you.

Sell Signal

Opposite of buy signal

Risk Management and Targets

Enter with 3 minilots

First take profit target 100 pips, move stop to BE second lot 2 ATR, 3 rd lot when the Gann gives an opposite signal

Stop Loss level. Use the 1.5 ATR as an emergency stop loss. This willusually cover the low of the signal candle with some allowance because price tends to test the lows and highs of the signal candle before continue on the new direction. If the gann gives an opposite signal you exit the trade take the loss and enter in the new direction.

Martingale function. Because of the less whipsaws while trading the dailies I use a martingale approach, doubling on a loss when I get another signal. This should be a key option in the EA.

Re-entry Strategy: Having obtained a daily signal. There is the opportunity to add to our positons using either the 4 hour or hourly chart gann signal. For my favourite pairs the Gann 4 has been a winner on the 4 hour chart, while the hourly chart I have used the Gann 6 and have used 1/2 daily ATR for my targets and stop loss. On an opposite signal the EA should close the trade and wait for another entry in the direction of the daily trend.

Conseqeuntly the EA should have the MTF Option and variable inputs to allow anyone to change the variables as they choose. The martingale function should be included in the EA including other money managment features.

Weakness of the System: Do not trade in the first 2 weeks of January(traders are just returning from hols) and during the summer hols( unless you want to loss your money). I have traded this system live for more than 2 years on all TFs so I can tell you better.
