Do you use a stop loss and where do you put it? I have tried with stop losses and often it loses but then comes back to close the gap and I would have won without the stop loss.

I am also testing the ALR EA instead of a stop loss and that hasn't lost yet but when it does it will be a bigger loss. It will therefore take a long time to be sure this is a good strategy. Plus it ties up your account from more manual trading on that currency pair.

Hi Tommaso,

I know this is an old thread but I was hoping to try the Gappy EA with the new version of Empty4.(600+)

It looks as though it is compiled for earlier versions of Empty4. Is it possible to recompile this EA for the new version of Empty4 ?

Here you go, I fixed the TakeProfit problem mentioned in the thread and I did some little fixes..
Use the Gap inputs to set which days you want the EA trades OOTB setting will trade at the weekstart with GMT+2/+3 brokers like GlobalPrime

No I do not use a stop loss. But I do monitor all trades closesly and never over leverage! It is a slow steady income, not a get rich quick thing. I use a one hour chart and look for consolidation /support resistance etc.

Pretty much all trades are closed out within a day or two. A couple of months back the gaps were there for several days. But they always will eventually close.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the ALR EA.

I enjoy the monday gap trading, then leave the markets alone. Seems to work! Less chance to give back the profits.
