I have taken the liberty to modify the NewMarketInfo_Dark Overlay indicator.

The Mods include Symbol display and Current profit/Loss display (when a trade is open).
See pic above;

Enjoy!
Thanks. This is very useful.

We have had this discussion at FF and the debate was quite heated. How do you post results in a way that shows progress.

1. By total pips? That may or maynot show progress. 1000 pips x 1 penny equals 10 bucks or 20 pips at 1 dollar is 20 bucks.
2. How about percentage of account? 1% of a 100,000 equals 1000 dollars or 100% of 300 dollars is 300 bucks.
3. How much money you make? One guy makes 1000 a day on a million dollar account but another tries for 50 bucks on a 300 dollar account.
4. Scalpers who play 100 bucks a pip and just look for 5 pip profit and am done.

No matter what you use you can leave a false impression of what is really going on. Somehow you have to show progress or an ability to do something. To me success or failure is what happened with a series of trades over a move. If a move from top to bottom is 150 pips I know with one trade it is impossible to hit the entrance at the absolute top and exit at the absolute bottom. If you can get 30-50% of a move you are doing good. However, if you stack trades you can hit over 150 pips. If I get over 100% of the move, I nailed it. If I get 30% I consider myself average. If I am CT trading because I read the market wrong and it goes 500 pips against me buying but I still collected 200 pips selling the dips I am tickled that I squeezed the market.

It is difficult to really show success or failure in this business. The very best traders are in the 15-40% increase of an account a year bracket. For a guy with 500 bucks he thinks he is a failure but he doesnt realize he is with the best of the best.

How about the traders that keep a DD but manage it in the 2-8% category and just try to pocket 1/2 to 2% a day. Then use some winnings and knock out some deficit to keep it manageable. There are all sorts of ways to manage or express your success.

So as you can see we can express ourselves in many different ways. Its expression comes from the style and method of trading. There are people who are now just learning stacking trades but they only can learn this method by knowing that some of us who do and the results. This is the first trading system that shows them specifically how it can be done. Probably some are trying it for the first time. Probably trading one penny to see what it is like. So big money maybe not but an expression of success.
You are correct, Bob. I was just trying to reinvent the wheel in my wish to standardize what cannot be standardized. Anyway, let´s continue comparing apples and oranges. Back to trading your great system. See you later at the airport.

I have a 'minor' inquiry about some mods to MPTM for those of us who are trading HGI manually and lack the ability to monitor trades regularly.
I was wondering if it was possible (in amongst the other millions of priceless pieces of work that are currently being undertaken by the wonderful people her at SHF) to have some HGI inputs in MPTM. I completely understand that this is much easier said than done as the code is quite extensive (to put it lightly) and has been through a number of upgrades throughout its life.
I recall Steve saying that he himself has trouble with the code sometimes as his style has evolved so much over the years. Hell, I have the same problem trying to undrstand some of my older molecular biology experiments :arrrg:
I do however think I saw it said somewhere that MPTM was going to have an overhaul at some stage though that was before the HGI beast was birthed. And yes, I am aware that the 'taser is loaded' but I thought someone would ask sooner or later especially seeing as lack of screen time has also been brought up in this thread.
To further risk been torn a new one (possibly from A-hole to ear-hole) I would suggest similar closures to those that are present in HGI, ie, close on opposite arrow and close on wavy lines.
This is a big ask and Steve, if you feel the urge, please don't ban me, moderate and scold me but please don't ban me. Yourself, Bob, Tomasso, Baluda, Elixe, Captain jack, Pips400, each and every member have has given me hope that some day in the future, I may be free of the rat race and be free to enjoy my life as I see fit.
Thank you all (and sorry too  )

Check out the dashboard here http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=5&t=3886, which is going towards adding MPTM control to HGI (or so it looks like) - as yet unfinished but seriously worth a look IMHO.

Wow, glad I stopped by.

Jumped off the couch after giving this a test run. I think you might have done it.

Thanks Bob, Steve, Ellixe, Milanese and Baluda. A truly amazing piece of work.

Congratulations.

Macman, I saw this work from Gringoh. Seriously awesome stuff. Especially for someone who claims to be a novice coder. Such a modest man  However, my poor little laptop can only handle so much at one time.
It is currently screaming its cpu's tits off with the current influx of ticks from the London session.
I have been watching and waiting for it to finish development then take it for a spin (maybe on my work PC which is by far a much greater beast than what I have at home as it was built for some serious bioinformatic data analysis).
Very cool idea though. A dashboard combined with an enhanced MPTM....Gringoh to you sir... :hi:

I have written a couple of scripts so we can more easily set up pending multi-level trades. Get them from http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 40#p105640.

:xm:
Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.
