Trading and Betting the Horses

This accords with the journey that the likes of me, whip and astral have been on for a few years. It took us a while to discover these eternal verities:

• Find your market
  Trade your market
  Know your market

I place these in chosen order because finding and trading led to knowing, in case others think this might appear strange. You will not understand the dynamic unless you have found and exploited your own market. The 'private' coding that I do here is a classic example. I had no idea that this market existed until people started to ask me to code 'private' ea's at FF.

I'll have to admit, I'll be following this thread with interest.......After spending 20+ years traveling across the USA racing harness horses, betting on the races was always near and dear to my heart.....I'm sure my runner, a beautiful,smart,tall, blonde woman who looked well past her years and could get to the front of a ticket window line faster than anybody else I ever knew has passed Dahlman a time or two in her quest to get a last minute bet in for me when the odds changed.......
I knew Dahlman by rep only as did almost everyone who spent any time at a race track......The fact that he has made a living at it for 35 years is the proof as to just how good he is.....Anything you can learn from him will benefit you in any form of gambling that you do.............Read that first post well, and then read everything that Steve, Mac, Scoobs, Bob and a few more post......That is how the learning process goes.......

Hi Khalid,
Be more than happy to add a little insight into racing every know and then....If there ever was anybody who loved his job it was me...An interview from my runner might be of interest to readers of this thread, since she started off a first time bettor and ended up a pro...I'll try to catch her when she stops by on the holidays for one of her mothers home cooked meals.....BTW she is still running, in 10K events all across the south....

My oldest daughhter (the runner), after some prodding over the phone, put this doc file together and e-mailed it to me......This information came from the USTA website and she reduced it to printable form so it could be taken to a track in your pocket......I think it's a great tool to start you on your race track betting trip.......

Daughter probably thinks the insights she provides are pretty obvious, but they would elude the rest of us coming to racing for the first time. Has she thought of selling the doc online?

Amazing stuff in more than obvious ways: it appears USTA care more about those who bet on horses than the trades who seek their fortune in Forex care about themselves.

You are right on the money!!!
The USTA and the owners and operators of US Harness RaceTracks bend over backwards to train and help the average citizen become a racetrack pro...They worked very hard to promote the tracks as a family experience and parents were encouraged to bring children.....

This is one of oldest Pari-mutuel (Live Betting) harness tracks in the world and still going strong after almost 60 years.....It's all about the customer...
A family of 4 can get up off their couch and easy chair and go to their local harness track, watch 9 or 10 races (about 4 hours of great entertainment), return home and never spend a dime unless they want to buy a hotdog at the track or need to put gas in their car.....
You could wager on your favorite horse after reading the detailed instructions on how to do it....You could pay a small cover fee and eat a lavish yet inexpensive meal in the glassed in club house and place bets from your table...The tracks wanted you to come back, not to lose alot of money......
People today could learn alot about customer service in the late 60's, 70's and early 80's at a racetrack...
