When people are about to take a trade, say on the H4, do you refresh the chart to see if the signal is still there? (I'm talking closed candles here) Or do you try to preserve the chart and its contents for as long as you can?

In other words: does a preserved chart's signals have more or less weight than a refreshed chart's?

In his manual Bob says: "It will keep the old signal and put the new signal on the chart. In other words, it will give you the new signal and you will see that most of the time both are correct at the time they happened. Having an indi that shows different signals should solve the problem once and for all but you know some will never understand that.
Now for it to work, you must stay on the same time frame."

So I guess Bob is saying, preserve the charts. Thoughts?

Hi Xrismak,

Are you trading the H1 TF ?

Thanks
Pipstubborn,
Sorry for my late Answer I just Stepped back in and I am hot wiring the H1 TF for Now until I see something that Catches my Fancy on the H4 TF, for Now I am Too Legit 2 Quit with this HGI thing....Men this is the REAL DEAL for Indicators  , I feel like Break Dancing.... :D :D :D

Happy Trading Y'all,
xrismak ;) :D
Thanks Xrismak,

I'm trading the H4 TF where I feel comfortable but willing to try H1. What I see is most of the time H1 is CT relative to H4 but when in sync it's a bombshell!

A note on your pics.- I see that the move is over for now and now they will come in sync with H4 signals.

See what I mean?

Congrats for your winings.

Hello guys,
First time poster here. Just registered a few days back. I am trying to digest so much good information on this great site and getting aquainted with the Holy Grail Indicator, a work or art I must say.

Playing with the HGI, I found that it performs really well on the 5min charts... Only that you have to read the BIG arrows instead.

-Open a 5min chart of any pair.
-Load the dark HGI Dark v 14.05 (latest I have today)
-Change the setting HideWavy to True.

Now look at the chart and see the position of the BIG green and red arrows. I went back about two months of data in the charts and it nails most market movements. I calculated the drawdown to be about 30 pips even without a StopLoss in place. It even nails major movements (news announcements?). So the first big green arrow would be the BUY signal and the first red arrow would be the SELL signal. The other big arrows that appear afterwards following the same trend on the screen would be the multi-level trading (adding lots) Mr. Steve Hopwood is talking about on his Holy Graily EA.

I am trading it demo and I am getting very good results.

Nanning, great job on this great indicator. The best I've used so far (and I have tried many). I Thank you very much for the great effort you put into it. :yahoo: I am trying the Holy Graily Bob but I really like the lower time frames best, which HGB is not very good at.
Do you think this described method has merit for a version of HGB for lower timeframes?

Thank you Bob, Steve, Ellixe, Milanese and Baluda.

Hi

If my understanding of this indicator is correct....to accurately "backtest" it, you need to run strategy tester in visual mode, then throw this indicator onto the chart and see the arrows form as time progresses.
Not sure how accurate your visual backtest would be if you just throw it on a chart and look at it like that.

From my observations it would be highly inaccurate because the TMA will not run /give false readings in backtester... and I promise I will say no more about backtesting except as tommaso has said... it is shite!

Okay I will add something else because it can serve a purpose and that is to test the trading logic, e.g. does the EA take a trade if X arrow or wavy shows up? Other than that, FORGET it and move on!
