Hi Al, this is very strange behaviour. If you ask me if there is code in the indicator that would disable the update for certain pairs after a certain period, then the answer is no. I have not noticed this behaviour myself yet, but will keep looking.

The only thing that this indicator does is call the iCustom() function with the HGI-indicator as parameter a gazillion times. May be there is a memory leak somewhere, that would be freed after a re-initialization.

If you would have told me that none on the pairs were updating, then I would have said that somehow HGIMatrix got unloaded, or crashed, and left all the screen objects behind. But this is not the case, so I am scratching my head...
Hi Rene. I am still getting updates on some pairs while others do not update. Here is a picture of the Matrix. Look at M15 UsdJpy and M15 AudUsd and compare the arrows in the Matrix to the pictures of each attached. In fact, right now minutes after I took the shots they have still not updated.

I reinitialize by changing time frame and the whole Matrix updates immediately.

Hi Rene,

Regarding your MTF matrix.
Can you please add the ability to selectively activate notifications for each time frame. Eg I have three time frames. H4, H1 and M30. However I only want to receive alerts for the trend wavy / strong wavy for the M30 time frame.

Regards,

M

Al, this certainly is a concern, as it means that we no longer can 'trust' the matrix. This should also be discussed with the creators of HGI -- as I believe that there is some logic in their code that stops updating arrows once they have been placed. I don't know what effect this has to subsequent iCustom calls, but I'd hope that iCustom calls keep updating the earlier value.

At this stage I don't have an answer for you. My code is extremely simple and does not discriminate between pairs. Sorry :(

Well, until we clear this up, the Matrix is usable by just reinitializing often (Changing TFs). I wouldn´t worry about it to much. Especially the guys trading H4. The matrix is a godsend even if we have to interact with it manually every once in a while..

the iCustom call should update everytime you call, I see here no potential problem in the code.., is it happening with all version or only with the 15.xx or 14.xx?

Cheers :)

Thank you Tomasso to check your code for the iCustom calls.

I really don't know if the problem only occurs with 15.xx, or also with 14.xx. In fact, I haven't witnessed the problem occurring myself yet (but I only use 14.05) As you know, one of the hardest problems to debug are those that only occur seldom and intermittently. That doesn't mean that I will give up on this one, though.

What I do know is this: HGIMatrix loads the various HGI indicators once (for each symbol/timeframe combination ). This is reported in the 'Journal' tab. After a while (we don't know how long), some (we don't know which and why) symbols are getting the wrong signals. This problem is resolved by switching timeframes (i.e. re-initializing HGIMatrix). Re-initializing HGIMatrix means reloading the HGI indicators. So, the 'old' HGI memory pointer is producing wrong signals, but a new one gives the right signals. This could just be due to some memory leaks or corruption (i.e. Empty4), something you or me can not do anything about. As an aside, Empty4 used to load the required indicator for every iCustom call -- nowadays in the later versions, memory is cached so that it doesn't have to reload it again. Probably reloading the indicator for every iCustom call was better (but slower).

Let me know if you have any other ideas.

Rene, in the meantime maybe you can code in a renitialization every 10 minutes. That woul allow us to have reasonably recent information without doing it manually and it would also allow us to have another 15.04 matrix next to it and compare them to see how serious or not the problem is.
