HGI used with Hurst charts
Well I'm impressed.....
I've used the HGI/Hurst Chart combination with the CSS indicators on another chart to get an overall view of stronger/weaker currencies. I'm still in demo, trading mainly on H1 and when the market is slow/ranging for a period like today, trading on M15.
In two days, my demo account is up 30% on winning 18/21 trades. I've never had this happen before with any system. Ever.
Will continue to practice this...maybe I'll find my way back to trading live again soon.
Thanks for the ingenuity.
Tony

This is the after result for the signal. I got stopped out, i guess waiting for bullish bar before entry is a good filter. Well this is just one loss so no big deal. Any ideas?Fmfx » Wed Dec 17, 2014 4:25 pm wrote:Cant post pictures now but i beilive there is a valid signal on eurcad 4H. My first for the week. Anyone?

That second wavy should have alerted you to exit the trade.
Change the colours of the two buffer so they are easily distinguishable (I use red for range wavy and green for trend wavy).
In your picture the first wavy (red) tells ypu the up move is potentially over and the second (green) that a down move is potentially starting.
There are a couple of posts explaining this in the HGIHGB threads.
Hope this helps

I downloaded the indicators and template from post 1. When I open my chart in Empty4 I only have 1 arrow on EURUSD and no arrows on the other pairs. Am I missing something here?
Thanks for sharing this system, it looks good and I would like to give it a try.

Thanks for the adv BobbyT. But you see most times the wavy is not there. In this particular case the wavy only painted after a long time in the red, so i decided to wait for bar close to make sure it is valid.BobbyT » Wed Dec 17, 2014 11:48 pm wrote:That second wavy should have alerted you to exit the trade.

As you know an arrow cant counter a wavy, only a wavy can counter an arrow.

This will happen from time to time as the TMA operating in the backgroubd of HGI recalculates.
I generally wait a minute or two to see if the signal sticks then bail out. If your trading H4 you don't really want to wait for the candle close.
Droping to a lower timeframe in situations lime this helps too as the signal may already be confirmed in the previous candles.

HGI used with Hurst charts
Hi Pedro and folks
I am fascinating with testing Hurst lines and HGI and have HGI demo going on upper time frames, but what can this system do on lower timeframes?
First after trading and running demos on M5 and M15 I found some times when the indicator is working well BUT most of the time the indicators are wallowing around and are EA killers giving late entries early exits etc. This is pronounced when PA slows down.
BUT does HGI fail in all conditions? Is there a market condition where it works well on the lower timeframes?
This morning NZ time I was manually trading the FOMC announcement on the EU on M5 or trying to. Big moves big candles and potential disasters. I then tried looking at my HGI - Hurst lines template on M1 and to my surprise it was handling the high volatility extremely well. In fact better than any timeframe in terms of being able to see entries and exits. A possible explanation here is that within those news spikes and whipsaws is in fact short intense waves that the HGI and Hurst system can detect efficiently. Why not? And is HGI and Hurst lines clever enough to detect these waves? I think so if we know where to look.
OK have a look at the screen shot and then try looking at this system on the 1m chart sometime when the volatility gets cranking. I am going to have a go manually trading this at one of these newsy times.
Could we turn Steve's HGB EA loose on M1 during a news period?
Don't mortgage your wife on this trade concept but do have fun I am..........................

Hey that would have been nice using the simple system I am trying to develop around this combination of fairly simple rules and indicators.
Taking the Red arrow as it would give a trade in the correct direction for the TMA11/5 rule, then setting a final TP of twice the distance to the crossover point would have been very sweet. Might even have closed half and left the rest on a trailing stop as the arrows were saying down still...:
Rather enjoying playing with this setup as it seems to be right with such a high percentage win rate, and when it gets it wrong the potential loss is only about 1:1
All the best
Jeff

Exactly Jeff
Using this lower timeframe approach you clearly have to be aware of how PA is running and whether the indys are handling it Ok but after some practice you can start to spot this. The hurst lines are separating good HGI signals from bad a lot of the time. It helps if you have a trading context too from hour of the session day of the week pair's characteristic etc, not really for beginners.
