Hi dclayw,
maybe my understanding of the system is wrong, but there looks like something not so right with your picture.
Shouldnt there be a yellow wave signalling the end of the down trend, before the blue wave and uptrend arrow ?
Cheers

I am questioning the indicator signals quite often and do not understand
The blue Wavy line indicates on your picture an exit of the +/-0.4 Channel or Range Exit or Trend Start.
The yellow Wavy line indicates on your picture en entry of the +/- 0.4 Channel or Range Entry or Trend End.
So far so good
From a process perspective I can only enter now a Trend, if I hadn't before and was out of Trend or in Range.
Your picture, 2 posts ago, enters a down trend (blue) at ~Dec 4th and reenters an uptrend at Dec 16th without going through the +/- 0.4 channel or a range period. How could that be? I think it cannot be and the lost yellow Wavy line actually confirms this argument. But why did it get lost?
I just wonder Mike

My guess is that for some reason the circumstance that should trigger the Trend end was missed due to rapid change in price, so instead of trend end, we go direct into trend start.Mike » Fri Dec 19, 2014 11:00 pm wrote: Hi

If it was an EA tracking this, it might have caught the Trend End, before it was swapped in the same candle.
Manually, if we are trading this and are expecting a Trend End, but see a Trend Start in the opposite direction...then it should be taken as equivalent to a trend end.
Just my guess...
Cheers

I think the yellow wave is just not seeable on the screenshot, you have to scale out a bit to see it below the lowest candle I suppose
Edit: yes that's the reason, I just checked it in my chart and there is a yellow wave under the lowest candle

If I can suggest something....making trades just based on HGI and Hurst is great, but I always look at the CSS indicator to compare currency strength before pulling the trigger. All these indicators are also supposed to stop us from making a trade in addition to making a trade.

A little history lesson...
First, there was TMA...
From that, TMASlope was develped...
From that, CurrencySlopeStrength was derived.
Since the wavy lines from HGI are calculated using TMA, and the 2 Hurst lines are perfectly mimicked by TMA also, there is no need to consult CSS
Here endeth the lesson.
Have fun!

Hi Guys,
Pedro, many thanks for sharing with us your research about Hurst.
I just put my nose into this concept, I am not really used to Hurst/bands.
First, attached you can find an indicator that I have just coded to make it easier to identify trend according to Hurst. Nothing special, I have just coded into the indicator 2 centered TMA and a ribbon. (As the ribbon cannot be displayed as background, if you want to have the candles in foreground, you have to go in your chart properties and tick “Chart on foreground”). If I understand it correctly to summarize:
-Trade confirmation: for a buy, white line (TMA 5) must be bellow yellow dotted line (TMA 11) ribbon colored in green in the indicator.
-Take profit projection: if you are in a trade (let say a buy), you wait for a cross, once you have it you project the lowest price value before the cross to the high and you have your target
-Hurst bands: are you using the bands?
Cheers,
G

Some of the older TMAs don't show the end of the tma-lag built into it. The Hurst and Centered TMA are exactly the same-see chart: The TMA is hidden by the Hurst. I don't see any use of the Hurst outer lines so therefore TMA centered-5 & centered-11 are all we need.
looking forward to your EA , I'm having trouble building mine.
Regards
Ray
PS; forgot to mention 1/3 to 1/2 of all loosing trades would not have been entered into if TMA was active in EA.
PSS: Spidy does the pretty web indicator look familier, I think if we have to many false signals from TMA that one will work.
