SERIOUS WARNING
  • Most Forex traders lose all their money.
  • Using the robot posted here in trading Forex does not guarantee success.
  • Trading this robot could lead to serious financial loss.
  • Trading this robot without understanding its underlying trading strategies guarantees traders will lose their money.
  • This is not a set-and-forget ea; there is no such thing and anyone who tries to claim there is, is either stupid or lying. This ea requires frequent manual intervention.
  • At best, a trading robot is only 90% as good as the manual strategy it trades. At best. At worst, it can be much less effective. If the strategy is rubbish, so is the robot.
  • To trade this robot, you have to understand:
THIS EA IS EXPERIMENTAL AND IS NOT YET BEING USED ON OUR LIVE ACCOUNTS

Intro
Holy Graily Stochy Bob combines Stochy Bob with the Holy Grail Indicator. Both are linked above, so make sure you know what these are about before you dimly load HGSB onto a chart OOTB.

The trading logic is that of SB - as is the closure logic. HGI is used as a filter so:
  • if the highest time frame is enabled, SB will only trade if it finds a HTF Trend arrow. Read about this in the HGB User Guide at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 3#p105063.
  • if the medium time frame is enabled, SB will only trade if it finds a Trend, RAD or Wave signal.
  • the trading time frame trades will only be sent if there is a Trend, RAD or Wave signal on the current candle.
Inputs
Read about the SB inputs in the SB thread I linked earlier. New inputs for HGSB are:
  • HGI_Name: the name of the version of HGI you are using. Download the latest from Bob's thread; you need it in your Indicators folder; you do not need it on your chart.
  • HgiReadDelaySeconds: HGI is a bit of a cpu hog if an ea calls it every tick. This input by default tells HGSB to read it just once a minute.
  • HighestTimeFrame: if >0, this input tells HGSB to look back in time to find the most recent Trend arrow on the HighestTimeFrame. 1440 means look on the D1 charts. 10080 is the weekly.
  • HighestCandlesLookBack: the number of candles to go back on the highest time frame to find a Trend arrow. Irrelevant if HighestTimeFrame = 0.
  • MediumTimeFrame: if >0, tells HGSB to look for a Trend, RAD or Wave signal on the medium time frame.
  • The remaining three enforce trading in the direction of HGI signals on the TradingTimeFrame chart:
    • TradeTrendArrows: only trade in the direction of the Trend arrows.
    • TradeRadArrows: only trade in the direction of the Trend arrows.
    • TradeWavyLines: only trade in the direction of the Trend arrows.
The remaining inputs are the usual suspects. Newcomers, read the details in the attached user guide.

Frightened by the complexity of all this?
Here is what to do (all links in the Serious Warning section earlier):
  • learn about HGI. It is the simplest thingy in the whole train wreck of retail Forex trading to use.
  • Read about how Stochy Bob works - load it onto a demo and let it run for a while.
HGSB will make more sense when you have done that.

Too lazy and stupid to do the required reading listed above?
Piss off and find somewhere else to play. You lack the capability to trade HGSB successfully. You may well be daunted by the complexity of all this. Tough. The rest of us had to get our heads around it; so do you.

Other Bob stuff
It is all there along with the usual other stuff, so read the attached user guide for details. You can combine the above with Slope, Css, RSI2 etc. Take your pick. Use different time frames and play to your hearts content.

The TradingTimeFrame input
This must be the time frame you intend to trade as the EA bases all of its calculations on it. This allows you to change time frames on your chart to view different scenarios without disturbing the bot. The downside of getting this wrong is something you will discover to your cost.

Chart screenshots
The EA can take a picture of your chart when it opens or closes a trade. Use this to post pictures here if you suspect that the EA has not behaved as expected. There is a section of inputs just underneath the minimum pips section, with inputs to turn this featureon/ off and to adjust the height and width of the snap. Files are saved with the name "ChartScreenShot" and the ticket number, when the EA opens or closes a trade. Navigate to the files via File/Open Data Folder/MQL4/Files. Remember to delete these files from time to time to avoid clogging up your disk drive.

Keeping track with iHistory
The attached iHistory indi is the indi I use to keep track of my progress and generate the pictures I post here. Copy it in your platform's Indicators folder. Open a chart you do not trade, add the Blank template to it and drag iHistory onto the chart. It works with the information you have in your History tab. Sometimes it needs reloading before showing any information, especially at the weekends.

Odd weird and strange happenings have befallen my computer tonight. The Dark Arts have held the upper ground.

Somehow a corrupted version of HGSB got uploaded to post 1. It was also involved elsewhere, but never mind.

Try the latest upload and see if it works for you. If not, I delete this thread and start again.
