The thingy with Bob is, every time he thinks about a new strategy, or an extension to an older one, he is bringing to the thought process over 7 years of continual experimentation and experience. The indi is an epic bit of coding; I am awestruck.”

Cowboy IBFX Aussie wankers blocked my live trading account again because I was running an 'old' version' of Empty4 – proving yet again that these bastards are in cahoots with the cowboys at Crapperquotes to separate all of us from our cash. Ok, so I do not really care because this is my tiny play-money account, but I would be cross if I had deposited $50,000 with them. Not that I would be that stupid. Nor should anyone else. Never deposit live cash with these cowboys. That is Cowboy IBFX Aussie, guys.

A reminder about Pipcruiser's Pipmasher at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... f=5&t=3874 which is doing exceptionally well. It is an automation of a trading system that Pipcruiser had been doing manually for several months before contacting me about coding the EA. It will especially appeal to those of you who like a slower style of trading than the 'trade tart' that is HGB/HGI trading. Or maybe combine it with HGI/HGB by opening a second account with a few hundred dollars, loading it up and letting it do its thing.

Weekly round-up:

A quickie for the noobs:
Last week offered up a 'Black Swan' event - something so rare that its repercussions were vast. Doesn't sound like much when written down in black and white; the Swiss divorced their Franc from the Euro. The effect it had on the markets was vast and instantaneous.

I was one of the lucky ones. My account grew by 40% in the blink of an eye. Literally. I looked at the balance, looked to my list of scripts to find the close all script because market behaviour looked strange and I was considering closing to protect the 20 pips profit I had made. Then I looked back to find 2000 pips profit and the account up 40%. Boy, did I close those trades fast.

No idea how many pips I left on the table, nor do I care.

At least I was able to - my broker Global Prime being a true broker and not a 'market maker/ bucket shop' (definitions at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 867#p38867). Others were not so lucky and even a number of so-called 'brokers' (i.e. market makers etc) have gone to the wall. My deepest sympathy to those of you who lost accounts last week; us old stagers here have been there several times before and know your pain.

Point is guys, the markets are likely to be turbulent for some while in the wake of all this. Trade live only if you really know what you are doing.

Me? I have withdrawn my stake so I am not tempted back and will sit on the sidelines until at least February, if not beyond.

I post here a really stupid pm I received earlier from a really stupid member of shf with a forum death wish.

Stefan, just because you are too thick to use bog-basic inputs and are too dense to read any single one of the umpteen User Guides littered around this forum and are too stupid to read anything ever written here about the more criminal of the so-called 'brokerage' community, doesn't mean you should inflict your stupidity on me.

I pointed out in a thread earlier that I was becoming a tad tired of having code that has run flawlessly and seamlessly for years questioned by people too thick to use it.

I will repeat a bit of that last phrase: " has run flawlessly and seamlessly for years "

And was often contributed by coders far more clever than I will ever be.

Stefan is about to lose his membership of SHF. The same fate will befall others in future who are too dim to do some thinking for themselves. Time to start cracking the whip and imposing some discipline, I think. Me and quite a lot of other people have contribute thousands of hours into developing robust code that only an idiot can break (think about that 'thousands of hours' bit folks and imbibe its import). Said idiots appear to be able to find ways to break it. It is an achievement of sorts.

To all demented half-wits here: Stop blaming others because you are an idiot.

To all the members here reading this as a late wrup or in my rup thread, think twice before questioning code that has run flawlessly and seamlessly for years.

Then think a third time.

Then don't do it.

The aftermath of the Swissy bloodbath has created some exceptional turbulence in the markets that the skilful are profiting from, but which would have eaten the naïve. Early exit polls from the Greek general election are pointing the way towards a possible exit from the Euro by Greece. Markets are terrified of their own shadow at the best of times; imagine how jittery they are going to be now.

The next bit is from last week. Intended contacting Bill for a form of words that could live as a permanent part of my wrup, but I forgot. I will do so in time for next week.

Cowboy IBFX Aussie wankers blocked my live trading account again because I was running an 'old' version' of Empty4 – proving yet again that these bastards are in cahoots with the cowboys at Crapperquotes to separate all of us from our cash. Ok, so I do not really care because this is my tiny play-money account, but I would be cross if I had deposited $50,000 with them. Not that I would be that stupid. Nor should anyone else. Never deposit live cash with these cowboys. That is Cowboy IBFX Aussie, guys.
