What about stacking trades at 20pip interval untill the 2 MA's cross?SpiderX » Wed Dec 24, 2014 11:57 am wrote:
Hi
Sure. That could be done.
Let me know if anything from Pedro's discussion has been missed.
Multi-trade is probably not such a great idea for now.
You should run a backtest using fxblue simulator with both indicators, and you will see that there are not that many trades.
The Hurst filter really limits the number of trades..this is the reason why the EA allows one trade a time at this point.
It is very very unlikely you can pick up another HGI trade signal after your initial trade.

I would love this EA to be able to take multiple trades with stop loss calculated by ATR and move to BE at ATR (ie 1:1 RR) as well.
For me Hurst HGI would be really powerful to enter and hold using the Hurst extension zones on the weekly/monthly to take profit.

Hi
Maybe you need to be more specific about multiple trades, but based on my backtest on this...it takes about 2-6 trades per month on the H1....even less on the higher timeframes.
The Hurst restricts trading , so you should not be expecting many trades trigger simultaneously.
For the Hurst extension zones part, i would need some calculations and example to understand your suggestion.
Cheers

I do have some ideas along that line for stacking.
More details later.
Cheers

Hi - sorry I probably wan't clear enough - post Christmas effect. I think you mentioned before that the EA will only allow one trade open at a time for now (or have I misunderstood that) . I'm a position trader (millipede sort of style). So I am always interested in ways to get stacked positions open (either way), get the SL to BE, hold and let the market decide what survives - so by multiple trades I mean't having multiple traders (in both directions) open on a pair at one time.SpiderX » Fri Dec 26, 2014 2:00 pm wrote:hollowhead » Fri Dec 26, 2014 8:43 pm wrote:I would love this EA to be able to take multiple trades with stop loss calculated by ATR and move to BE at ATR (ie 1:1 RR) as well.

By the Hurst extentions, I was referring to the indi posted a few days ago that highlights where a run is likely to end based on the Hurst calculation. So I would then be able to look at the weekly, monthly charts and know the areas in which I could close some of my stacked trades (diversify). This wouldn't need coding, I was just saying how I could see that indi helping a position trader know where potential profit taking areas were.
Hope that's a bit clearer - thanks for all your work on this - it's seriously impressive. EAs are whole new world to me. I walwasy considered them a sclapers tool, but this forum has opened my eyes - and this one looks like it could be really useful for my style of trading. Best to you.

I am wondering if it could be great to use CSS diff on higher TF to select strong trend:

< - 0,4 on Daily --> Only Green Arrow and RAD on H4, or H1 ?
Let me know what your thoughts

Would make no sense as the CSS diff values are near the same than the tma calculations used in the HGI, we used at beginning both CSS diff and tma but we saw that there is no important difference between the values so we decided to use tma, as the calculations are less CPU impegnative.sim2505 » Sat Dec 27, 2014 7:04 pm wrote:I am wondering if it could be great to use CSS diff on higher TF to select strong trend:

Ah thanks a lot Tommaso for your clarification, I understand this decision
We will see the results even if I think a calculation from a higher TF would be better

I have been looking at using the TMA Histogram Pedro2 posted a few days back in the hurst thread for the same use (taking wave or arrow signal ...moving to BE and holding for as long as possible..) as it's a MTF indicator you can set it to the Daily or Weekly time frame and exit when it changes colour and sticks..You probably wont get everything but you should get most..I am not sure if spider would be interested or if it would be viable to use the indi for exits but will post it anyway to save you skipping around the Hurst thread if it interests you.
