Hey Cal, do you remember CW and all those systems he kept on coming up with? Ok, so now we know now that they were based on repainting-for-fun crap custom abortions, but didn't they look soooooooo convincing back then? I cannot help but feel we missed a trick by not keeping up with him. He was light years ahead of us then, so imagine where he is right now. Hey ho.

Tonight is introducing me to a new concept: signals chop.

We are all familiar with choppy markets. Tonight this has extended to HGI signals. Signals resulting in trades a couple of H4 candles ago are being countermanded by new signals now. The original trades are closing at a loss and my profits for the day are disappearing rapidly.

Lol, I traded a few of them live, and funnily enough I learned the meaning of being stuck in huge drawdown at the same time! Ouch!

And less of the gerbil bashing, they have much more brain power than that!

You realise Mr H that my life now consists of rushing home after work far too quickly to frantically check my demos to see how HGB has done! This thing is addictive, all hail the RAD multi, that's what I say! Fantastic stuff!

Yep same here on one of my demos, it just ate 700 pips! But then again it will probably make another 1000 so tomorrow so why worry?

Here is a heart-warming story for you.

Gerbils are lovely pets and we kept them for years - wound the cats up beautifully.

There was one that we had for about 4 years - roughly double their normal life span. About 10.00 pm on a Sunday night, we found the poor little thing rolling from back to front uncontrollably - imagine rolling down a hill sideways.

Clearly nothing to be done for the little guy, so I took him out into the back yard to bash him with a brick - I mean, imagine the cost of calling an emergency vet at 10.00 pm on a Sunday.

Could I do it? Not a hope. Here was clearly an ex-gerbil whose brief glimpses of reality, if any, would have been filled with confusion and terror. It was my duty to end its suffering. Still I could not bring myself to do it.

So, I gulped and phoned the out of hours vet, who invited me around immediately. He took a quick look at the gerbil, confirmed that there was nothing to be done except a merciful end, and injected it with a drug that acted within seconds.

Then sent me away without charging a penny. I have never forgotten his kindness.

Saw this today on my RAD trades. My minimum lot size with my UK spreadbetting account is 0.1 (which equates to 0.10p per pip). With the default lot sizes and multi lot sizes set to 0.01 in the ea I had missed setting my RAD multi trades to the required 0.1 minimum. Probably coincidental but that was when my same level RAD muli-trades were fired (even though strangely, they were all opened at the correct minimum 0.1) - other trade types set to the 0.1 minimum fired ok. Since correcting the multi lot size to the correct minimum value I haven't seen the problem since. Like I say, probably not related at all, but dunno, maybe worth the mention ...

so I just found something interesting.

yesterday I installed metatrader4 on a VPS with amazon AWS (EC2 t2.mirco instance). i saw someone else tried this and failed, but i thought i'd give it a crack for fun. with the promise of a free VPS for 12 months and 24/7 forward test, it was worth trying.

soooo. it all started smoothly until i started getting the error -> indicator is too slow, XXXXms, rewrite the indicator please. that's running HGB on 28 pairs.
obviously not enough CPU power to run it. CPU usage in Resource Monitor was above 70% and peaking at 100%.

so i left it overnight and came back to it this morning. CPU usage had dropped massively and HGB was working smoothly again.

to cut a long story short, if I have Empty4 maximised, it uses A LOT more CPU and will keep climbing until it maxes out. minimise it to the taskbar and the CPU drops to below 1%. not sure why, but im guessing it's got something to do with the graphics? maybe a bug in the code? i noticed CPU really started spiking as soon as some orders were opened.

in conclusion.. it looks like it is possible to run Empty4 on the free amazon AWS service! with 14ms latency to GlobalPrime demo too!

i will write a tutorial on how to set it up and post in a new thread if anyone is interested. would be great if we can get a few people to setup HGB to do forward tests with different settings.
