In the meantime just put on the chart this idicator I have written some time ago. It makes a periodical screenshot (default: each 60 seconds) and saves it in MQ4/Files/Screenshots folder. Useful to analyze what has been happening on the charts.
Have a nice weekend :-)
EDIT: Corrected folder and file naming:
MQ4/Files/Screenshots/ServerDate LocalDate/Symbol/Period/ServerTime LocalTime.gif
for example:
D:\GlobalPrime\MQL4\Files\Screenshots\2015.01.09 2015.01.10\AUDCAD\H1\23-59-59 14-58-54.gif

Nice week for me

Thanks for the H1 Bob, working well for me.

I like the H1 timeframe because fits my trading habits as a manual trader-- H1 is busy enough to keep me interested, and slow enough to keep me calm and not overtrading and pulling trigger too vigorously.

This made your H1 perfect for me. Total pips 311 for the week. 16.37 % equity gain. This is on a small live account I keep for new systems. Your H1 16.00 is working well and seems extremely reliable for me. (will try to give you pics next week)

Thanks again to all you guys for such fine work, and for sharing. You are all the best!! :good:

I was wondering if it would be possible to have some kind of line or dot indicating were the rad arrow itself was the moment it showed up on the chart. I will consider this too for a future update, if it would be usefull too for others..

Cheers :)

Tommaso
HI Tommaso:

I'm not particularly concerned regarding the specific bar of the Rad arrow since I trade on H4 and consider the Rad as reassurance rather than a turning point. That is not the case with the wavy lines. It would be a great help if the specific bar of the wavy could be identified in some way (ideally with a dot of the same color on the bar as the color of the wavy). I feel this is important since the wavy lines are a major warning of an upcoming directional change and identification of the individual bar assists in identifying a specific point of action be it range or trend.
This indicator is already so good that I'm almost reluctant to suggest changes.
Thanks for your consideration.

Hi! How do you manage those trades in tems of SL and TP? Do you keep them going until a different signal pops up or use specific times?

I like H1 too but been struggling on it this week, definitely using too tight stop...

so i think in the future i will avoid this currency.

There is no reason to stop trading a currency just because you took a loss. Fundamentals are gbp/usd short for now so just keep looking for short trades. I took 48 losing trades this week or almost 10 a day average. It doesnt stop me from trading and I still made a profit. You just have to get over losing and concentrate on making money. I concentrated on selling the gbp/usd all week and had 4 winners. That big red arrow on Tuesday let me run with it. Dont understand why you couldnt capture something of that 228 downward move on that currency. The yellow wavy line at the end of the week told you to stop.

with GBP currency and especially (GBPNZD,GBPAUD,GBPJPY most volatil pairs) when you have a big arrow and enter trade, sometimes the price go against you before coming back and running in your direction ;and if you have a tight stoploss you are out most of the time.

Hey Nidolap . . . and Grant, thank you for PM.

Basically I am afraid my explanation may be a little disappointing and unsatisfying to you guys.

I am not a very sophisticated, or technical trader. I am more the casino type. . . . high probability for trade to get into bankable pips, then take some profit (or loss). This is why over the last 8 years I have only EKED profit rather than shoveling them in. So naturally, a system like this with clear high probablility entries and bankable pips appeals to me. This is kind of like scalping for 5-10-15 pips. Takes a lot of screen time.

I have been trading the trend arrows and the range arrows the same. I don't do the RADs. When an arrow (trend or range) is printed, and in agreement with 10.4 trend condition, the price will reach the next 20 line a very very high percentage of the time. I take profit at or near the next 20 line. Sometimes if price seems to be running, get a little more. Biggest trade this week about 35Pips. Smallest win probably 1 pip. I am of the "never let a winner become a loser" school. Not that I really believe this, but I have never had the nads to do it any other way.

I manually take loss when i get either an opposite signal, or perhaps a suspicious candle. Maybe just get paranoid. Biggest loss this week I would estimate around 25Pip
I don't use stoploss or tp unless i am going to be away from screen for a while.

1. Get Signal (trend or range arrow)
2 Check for 10.4 trend condition agreement (personally I just look at matrix indie for this)
3. Enter trade immediately and shoot for next 20
4. Exit and TP when happy
5. Exit and take loss when pissed and disappointed

The REAL traders would be appalled at the pips I leave on the table doing this. I plan on doing the HGI more conventionally when my other account is cleared and I would have much more margin to play with. Hope this answer not too murky.

Thanks, Shake
