I have a home computer, and two VPS, could run 3 extra demo's, just let me know the settings.

Maybe it is a good idea to start with a matrix, with all the different settings, and since each setting should be at least tested with different brokers, we have endless options, so the resources should be used effectively.

So far I am running demo's on Axitrader, FXCM and GP, crap Empty4's

I'm in. I can set up a couple of demos in my VPS. I can run at least 5 instances, probably more.

Which VPS provider is it? Sounds more like a dedicated server with capacity of 5+ instances

I try to summarize what we got so far:

Indicators for trade reports:
TradeReport by renexxxx for reporting results
iExposure, Tickets by Baluda for High / Low Watermarks (floating drawdown)

One person sets up four myfxbook accounts (one myfxbook account for each trading type [Trend, Wavy, Rad, Range]) This person needs all the investor passwords (trendinator collecting them? I could collect them as well if needed).

First rounds of testing are more or less trail and error.
So best is to have only one independent variable else we don't know what is happening.
I guess for a proper statistical analysis the sample size will be to small and it will be hard to collect all the data from so many people how don't know each other. So I assume that we just take a look at the end of a week on the data and if the pips / profit differ enough (whatever this is) we take it as significant difference - no anova etc.

Broker = Global Prime, 10.000 USD demo account.
28 pairs. No commodities.

What we could do:

First weeks test round:
- H4 only
- 4 types of trading per account (Trend, Wavy, Rad, Range)
- 3 different TP: TP 1 = X, TP 2 = X, TP 3 = X (using ATR?)
- 3 different SL: SL1 = NO SL, SL 2 = X, SL 3 = X (using ATR?)
= 36 Empty4 instances needed. If we gather more people more room for options.
If we don't get enough people (with buffer maybe around 45 people needed?) we might only go for 2 different TP / SL settings (= 16 Empty4 instances) and fill the extra Empty4 slots with some extra settings.

Later (next test rounds):
- TF < H4 with H4 as medium TF
- TF = H4 with higher TF (daily?) as medium TF
- ???

Even Later:
- putting different types of trading and different TF together.


What about the settings?
- OOTB (Steve's settings) with CashProfitTarget = 30 etc.?
- TP ATR / No ATR
- SL ATR / No ATR
- TP Values
- SL Values
- How long is a test run? One week or longer.
- How do we make sure we got the same start time on Sunday / Monday and the same stop time on Friday? A Monday and Friday Start Stop Restriction like in HGI Hurst Trader would be usefull.

wow great response everyone! thanks drunka for that summary, you are one step ahead of me!

i see version 2i is released, hooray! so we may have a candidate to use. i will stress test this today on the amazon VPS to make sure its stable. i have 2h humming along nicely with no errors so far.

at the moment we have 18 people and around 32 confirmed instances we can utilise so far. awesome

my thoughts:

One myfxbook account. it will be easier to manage and to compare all the systems at once. we will be able to see the trade types from the name of the system. if we really want 4 accounts we can set that up later. not going to bother with the whole 'verify trade privileges' thing, just use investor password and auto update.

each system will be given a unique name such as

All-HGB-2i-0001 = all trades types on version 2i
or
Trend-HGB-2i-0002 = trend only trades

The unique number at the end will identify the settings used, which I will post in a table here.

I know everyone is keeeeeeen to get started, but we still need to iron out a few details first, such as the settings to test.

At the moment lets aim to start on Monday 19/01/2015 at the market open. so we will get setup on the weekend and then let it roll.

i will post instructions with settings on friday, just in case there are a few late joiners between now and then.

Actually, trendinator is going to create the myfxbook portfolio and add all the accounts and we will give him the account numbers and investor passwords, so for the moment you don't have to worry with that.

Is there a nice ATR indicator or dashboard that displays MTF ATR in pips with a definable lookback period? I've searched without success.

I have some ideas about calculating most favorable R target based on ATR stop but I need pair specific 4hr ATR values. I'll have to manually collect data on MFE (Maximum favorable excursion). I'll start with trend trades first.
