Should this be interpreted as a stronger move than just a simple wavy or maybe something different? Or it doesn't really matter?
Small Arrow -> range trade
Yellow wavies -> enter range

The signals tell the same in my opinion; a range has entered.

I came down to the same explanation myself. :)

Just to be sure I read somewhere in the main thread that if there was a big arrow and also a wavy then the wavy would invalidate the big arrow and we would only take the wavy under consideration. Is that correct?

The problem with that though is that you would have gotten into the trade already from seeing the big arrow so would you immediately exit when you saw the yellow wavy or wait for a blue wavy first or some other signal?

Depends on the colour and the position on the wavy.

- yellow, below candle; exit sells
- yellow, above candle; exit buys
- blue, below candle; buy
- blue, above candle; sell

Yep, exit the sell from the trend-Arrow on the yellow wavy. Blue wavy could take some candles to form, and price is ranging so going nowhere.

The way I trade these at the moment [D1];
1. wait for a blue wavy to form
2. enter on the blue wavy
3a. re-enter on trend arrow in the direction of the existing trade
3b. re-enter pendings on RAD Arrow in the direction of the existing trade
4. close on yellow wavy
5. rinse and repeat from #1.

Very detailed explanation. It helps a lot and actually makes sense. :good:

The part I need to pay attention to is 'enter on blue wavy' instead of wait for trend arrow. It gets you in the move earlier and you stack on trend arrows and rads.

Are you trading D1 to avoid being glued to the screen all the time or did you find it more profitable than the H4?

Thanks

Not enough time to watch the H4 signals.

Just trying something different, everybody else is doing H4 so if it makes a big difference I'll revert back if necessary.

As always, time will tell. It's to short to make a real opinion about HGI on D1.

How to interpret readings from multiple timeframes?

Don't over-complicate things.
Just follow the signals.

If you want to use "higher TF" signals on lower TF's, like H4/ H1, wait for sell-signals on the H1 after H4 printed an trend-down arrow. If you get the yellow wavies above on H1 you're halfway, uptrend has ended and downtrend might be about to start.

Vice-versa for buy's.

Do so untill yellow wavies on H1 or H4 and wait for direction on H4 again. Trend-arrows or blue wavies. Then go to H1 and trade in that direction again when H1 signals print.
@ Gertje

Thanks a lot for your reply,

Still the question remains how to deal with conflicting signals of HGI on different timeframes. And why these conflicting signals do come up in the first place.

Like for instance how / why does HGI recognize a down trend and set a Big Red down arrow on H4, while it says start of"ranging" at H1 - at the same candle (H1 first of 4 in H4), like it did in my case. Can a currency pair be trending on H4 while it's rangin on H1!???
Shouldn't the trend or a trend change start out from the lower time frame?

As Bob seems to be focused mainly on the H4 timeframe, perhaps the indicator isn't really meant to be used in a way that combines readings / signals from different timeframes?

I admit, i still struggle to really understand the inner workings of HGi, and how it generates it's signals.

Don't try. You cannot. This stuff is simplicity itself. Just follow the signals and you will be ok.

Or you can over-complicate and fuck things up just every other dimwit unable to recognise something brilliant when it bites you on the bum.

Understanding this stuff takes a lot of time and thought. Take the time and do the thinking, or I suggest you go somewhere else to play.

Your choice, really. Your success or failure lies in your hands.

Read the effing manual, ok?

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Am i misunderstanging this
I thought the white line across the candle indicated that was where the trade became available
Yet i have a blue wavy line trade just appear that shows the white line 40 pips away from the market price
that seems a long time before the trade shows up

I also refreshed the H1 D1 and the wavy line is 3 candles back but close to inline where the market price was then which seems you would have made 40 pips before this trade showed up

A little help please...
The large magnified market price on my template is frozen and does not reflect true market price. I have reloaded the template file a few times to no avail. Am I overlooking something? Thanks
