The Great HGB Foward Test

EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

I'm not sure about some new stuff put in.. but hey.. that why we need a test :)

I think that the lack of available platform isnt really the challenge here.
The challenging part is, setting up the strategy, to determine which tests are usefull.
And how to do something usefull with the data we gathered.

Thanks for suggestion, Gringoh thats something to look into. (TLDR yet  )

Well latency was a thingy, maybe over optimizing here.. on the H4 test, it won't matter that much.

Qvintis, that what I've ment. I didnt knew you can save the items in the search section of fxbook.
Still cant find it.. But imagine you have to open 28 browser windows.
And fill in the filter like you did, in the screenshot.. Then go through the stats of all 28 accounts.
Look for rogeu trades, longest durations, best entrances, exits.. analyize biggest losers and wins. Use the advanced section et the end of history, to check for missed profit, drawdon ect.. Check trading hours entry eits.. and all other stuff we could analyze.. this is a massive job..
Plus I noticed, the filter doenst always work correctly..

But great, we decided to only have 1 type of trade per account :)

Yes Fx3e3, QC and planning is the key..

ok, well to take it to the next level..
Strange coming from my mouth as I thought I would never say this..
And it is my allergy...
it would be great to have some mathicians, statistic guys goe nuts over the data we are going to collect with Mathlab (or freeware equivalent)
Have somewhere read something about it with regarding to FX.
Possible alternatives to Mathlab

How often are the accounts refreshed? I thought that would be every 5 minutes per default, but my two instances got their last update over 4 hours ago?

You're right it should be every 5 mins but myfxbook is a pile of crap on that front. I often get accounts that do 24 hours with no update. I can't see any rhyme or reason why the updates times vary so much.

It's difficult to determine anything by looking at the accounts now. Hopefully they all update late Friday so we can see where we are at.

If the data needs looking at more accurately in the week we could run it off myfxbook EA maybe?

Common Doctorgremlin,
you´re cheating. You gave your HGB a nice sunbath, a shower afterwards and you fed it after midnight. 40 open orders, 172 pending orders and 101 closed trades. What are you up to?

Sorry, no cheating here, i haven't touched both instances since the Setup on sunday.
but i gave each HGB on each chart a separate magic number, i think that might be the difference.

Just a comment,

Regardless of the TF you choose to trade HGB in the settings, and the "everytick" option being enabled, I've found that attaching the EA to different timeframs DOES make a difference in entries. I don't think it's supposed to be this way, but this has happened, in my experience over the past few weeks working with this EA.

Triangla,

I have the same issue, with trades not being taken. Except, mine did take the EURCHF.... :? There are quite a few that should have been taken, no idea why it didn't take them. :o

At this early stage, it's already interesting to see the huge differences between the best and worst performers, and I guess that difference will grow as the week progresses. We are eventually going to have to work out why. Some questions that occur to me: did everyone use H4, or did some people use the default H1 TF that charts open? Did everyone use all 28 pairs? Did everyone use ootb settings, or did some people intentionally or unintentionally use their former or favourite settings? With just investor access to accounts, it will be impossible to find out, won't it?

It seems to me that a fast way to move ahead would be for say the 5 best accounts each week to save their setups as a Profile, and post that Profile, so that others can confirm the settings, pairs and TFs. If asked, I for one would be happy to do that - although at the moment, it doesn't look as though my tests are going to be among the best.

Hi Guys,

A question for the more knowledgeable "Coders", Is it possible that the problem with signals is related to not having "stdlib.ex4" in the library folder?

I am running a different instance on a Mac (I don't want to screw our test) and I noticed that when I attached the expert "2o-b" to the chart it shows "stdlib.ex4" as a dependency.
In our test, we didn't install the "stdlib.ex4" in the library folder, or at least I didn't. My library folder is empty.

I am not a coder, if this question doesn't makes sense, please disregard and fill free to delete my post.
