It looks like a lot of people using HGI use it for confirmation. The trouble I personally find with HGI is that I don't know the "Science" behind it and therefore I'm reluctant to take some trades just using HGI alone. So I too look at other timeframes and indicators. :)

I'm demo-ing HGI on a D1 chart, and love it.
Started the 20th of January and just want to show an example of what can happen.....

3 trades, entered on a RAD arrow.
SL=100 and now wait for the yellow waves to arrive....

If I may ask Gertje, which do you prefer, the 4H or the daily?

I suppose the daily would be the least stress? I am also assuming that there would less "false" signals due to market uncertainty with the daily time frame?

Your input and opinion is highly valued.

Baie dankie

Hi Hannes,

To be honest, I got stopped out a lot on the H4, due to me not paying [enough] attention and that got me looking into D1 signals.
I still get stopped out some on the D1, but there's a lot less hassle, and till now no disappearing signals.

What one needs to pay attention to is the fact that just after rollover, arrows and waves print on yesterdays candle. I take these trades immediately.

At the moment I can't decide what to do as I have 2 demo's running. One demo uses the SL=100 and then wait for yellow waves, the other uses SL=100, BE+50@100, JS=50 like Pipmasher.

The first gives crazy returns floating, the second is chugging along.

Nearly all signals go into profit eventually, so one might consider an emergency SL, or even a balance-based max-DD closure a.k.a. shirt protection in MPTM.

Thanks for the reply Gertje...If you say that you wait for the roll overs, I am assuming that means the end of the daily candle...my problem is that that is around 1 or 2 am local time...I suppose I can get in at around 5 am local time, would you think that I would miss out on a lot of the action during those 3 hrs (basically the Asian session)...

Also, forgive me if you have mentioned it before and I have missed it, but how many pairs are you taking signals on?

Cheers

You don't miss much in my opinion, you might even be able to enter at a better spot... ;)
If you keep HGI opened, you can tell where on the bar the signal showed and decide if/ where you want to enter.
My rollover is at 23h00 local time, so just before going to bed.

I trade all crosses minus EURGBP and EURCHF and don't enter on the CHF crosses at the moment. I have no idea how many candles HGI needs to get rid of the huge spike from BlackSwanDay so I just let it pass.

Aren't you in South Africa Hannes? For us rollover is currently at midnight, or 11pm in winter. ;)
