HGI used with Hurst charts

I already have few questions:
- Do you trade XAGUSD and XAUUSD based on that method?
- How did you come to the entry level around TMA lines?

- As you know, Hurst is also great to define exit and/or the end of the move (equal distance past the crossover), have you ever check "MTF Hurst Target v1b" that plot the swing target and tried to include it in your method?

Much appreciated, closely following it. :geek:
Hello, yes I do trade XAUUSD exactly the same and TMA band for entry in an attempt to get in at a better price than a candle open since price usually retraces part of the previous candle. 0.2ATR band is close enough to price not to miss out on a good trade and certainly helps secure an extra few pips both sides.

I have played with Hurst target but I found it too variable whether to shoot for 75%, 100%, 160% or whatever.. If you put it on a chart and compare it to where price ends up relative to the current hurst cycle/tma band once an opposite signal comes along you might see what I mean. It's a good indi though but where to draw the line?

Hope this helps.

Can you zoom in and show the trade you planed, the place you would have set the entry and number the hurst cycle bars just to make your case.
Would be of great help, thanks Mike

Hi TJF,

I have some difficulties with the "4 bars waiting" entry.

This is in many case quite brilliant, but how do you manage to find an entry on that example?

Do you take this trade, if yes or no, can you detail ? Trend Wave (yellow) appeared and we already have 13 red bars on the TMA.

Thanks

Yes I would have taken this trade... although I have been out all day so didn't.

Once the bar closed with trend wavy, since already more than 4bars red and next open was OUTSIDE TMA band I would have entered at market at open.

If the open had been inside the TMA band then I would have placed order at band (minus spread).

Hi Mike, in this case I had no trade planned because setup criteria not been met with the current Hurst Cycle which was the point I was making. I find Hurst an awesome filter for HGI as per this thread.

...Happy to post the next trade I take in full detail for clarity.

Here we go.. CADCHF short. I placed order at TMA band following open after range wavy since open was well within the band.

35pip SL (2pips above range wavy)
65pip TP (2pips above next MM line)

This order was filled 15mins ago.. lets see how she does.

I'm glad I found the same entry but wasn't very convinced because of the previous range wave & buy arrows. I'm expecting a new range wave ABOVE before going short so here comes a question:

- will it maybe repaint in a dozen of candles (if it goes down)?

Anyway, i'm long about CHF and took the trade with a small positon.

add question: care to share the TMA that plot only the last hours ?

HGI shouldn't repaint as long as you don't refresh the chart and keep history is true.

For TMA band just set max bars to 2. Screenshot below:

Thanks for the screenshot.

About the "repaint" as the idea is to get out of the position whenever an counter signal appears, isn't worthwhile to refresh the chart ? But I can understand the idea to keep its state whithout refresh.
