Lol just kidding, the power of Brainstorming - it can spark similar ideas in other people! Exactly what I like to see!

Dude no apology necessary. All people will get the same logical progression of ideas i.e. they will achieve the same ideas on their own as we're all generally wired the same.SWG123 » Wed Mar 11, 2015 9:24 pm wrote:Angat » Wed Mar 11, 2015 11:14 pm wrote:Shared TS for multi-trades! Sorry Angat, I wasn't aware of that thread, just applying simple arithmetic.
Yes it does. I do not care. HGB is what it is. You want something different, trade with something different. I am not going down the path of fixing it until it is bust againSWG123 » Wed Mar 11, 2015 8:44 pm wrote:Steve,
Just a thought regarding the multi trades ... at the moment we have them spaced at 20 pip intervals with TP30 and fixed SL50.
This means that if price moves in our favour, when the second multi-level trade is triggered, we have a situation where the potential profit from both entries is 60 pips but, if the market reverses against us, we are exposed to a combined 100 pip loss.
Instead of the 50 pip fixed SL, a 40 pip instant trailing SL would ensure that our risk/reward is 1:1.
E.g. Trade 1 goes +20 triggering Trade 2. At this time, SL on Trade 1 has moved up 20 pips so the worst case loss is -20. On entry, Trade 2 has the full 40 pip SL, so combined risk is 60 pips - equalling the potential profit from both entries for 1:1 R:R.
Make sense?
I second that. It is actually quite good. Below are my results so far trading HGB second edition, OOTB (except for HGI_Name=HGI_v16.04 and HgiReadDelaySeconds=30), on all the majors + GJ:SteveHopwood » Thu Mar 12, 2015 7:29 am wrote:Just demo the damn ea, ok? Methinks I detected some actual gentle mockery of my writing style here tonight. Kind of you to be so gentle.renexxxx » Wed Mar 11, 2015 11:32 pm wrote:I second that. It is actually quite good. Granted, it was a good week for trend following strategies, but 2000+ PIPs in four days is actually quite good.

Be careful what you say. I suggested a trailing stop on the multi trades and got flamed for it.trendinator » Thu Mar 12, 2015 2:14 pm wrote:'gimme dem pips!!!'
thursday rolls round...
'actually nah i dont want those pips anymore'
i think i tighter breakeven / jumping stop might be the saviour here.
