This time last week, Friday, I bought a new computer and so was able to test out far more stuff than I was able to do previously. I tell you gals and galesses, buy a now comp whenever you can; they are fab.

This meant that I was able to set up demos to test out everything I have coded this week and at the end of last week.

I have coded a couple of variants on what we have here. Gertje plus was an instant failure. Gertje plus Squalou plus forexhard (G++ for short) has made profits, but there is a lot of dd.

Straight Gertje has been a star. I started the week with him on EU to take advantage of the tiny spread, and GJ to take advantage of the pair finally waking up after several months of inactivity (ok, so it did so a few weeks ago but I know what I mean).

I ended up removing EU (didn't lose anything, just a bit slow) and leaving GJ running. I started the week with $2000 (Cowboy IBFX Aussie mini account, 0.02 lots) and ended with $2187 and 3 GJ trades open.

All I have done is leave G to his own devices. The real Gertje is probably saying right now, "Yep. I did tell you guys......"

Early days, I know, but maybe we already have something here that does not need fixing until it is broke?

nice to hear steve. I also need an hardware upgrade for testbed so i can test more.(now i can not compare the diff variations), only tested the G++ last week on 2 pairs(EU & GU) with positive results. (and further i still have to read a lot to get a grip on how everything worx in the diff gertje variations.)

anyway THANKS for the continious efforts, which brings little gems to us.
many times just reading and in the background, without posting.
But rest assured it is highly appreciated.

It took a while, but...................

I started G on EU on the 15th (this is my live money account). The basket finally closed out today (26th) at an overall +51 with 10 buys and 4 sells.

I also started G on a live account on 4 Apr 12 with $80. At the end of today the acct is now 134.97. Only trading EU with step 20 and profit target of $5 and base lot size of 0.01 using 2.0 lot mulitplier.

Wow, that is absolutely impressive! May I ask, does .01 lots on the account represent basically $0.10/pip or is it a micro in which case it represents $0.01/pip? Thanks in advance for your reply, okehiedon, much appreciated! Oh, also, it would be helpful if you could tell me what the worst DD you've seen has been and also what leverage you're trading at... Again, thank you...

I use Alpari UK; 10 cent per pip minimum trade size. Going thru my Empty4 stats it took 87 trades with a maximal DD of 25.85%. Note, I used a very risky setting but took advantage of Alpari's 500:1 leverage starting with an 80$ acct. Doing some more test on this live acct before moving it to my main acct.

Good plan - more testing, I mean.

It is worthwhile remembering that my live cash trading account is Cowboy IBFX Aussie, wheere 1 pip - very little and my starting lot size is 0.01. This account takes serious thrashing without threatening to blow up.

How did u set your lot size? At externs inputs or did u have to open up editor & amend Steve’s codes?

I entered my desired lot size at externs inputs under ‘Lots Size” & ‘Lots per thousand of balance’. It didn’t work & instead went ahead to trade at the default 0.1 lots per $1000. Unfortunately I don’t have the technical knowledge to amend the codes. Any idea?

Drawdown can go as far as 35%. I started with $100k (demo $) & it went down all the way to $60k+. I was prepared to abandon this system. But it eventually recovered. Equity is now at 98k, down 2%. Balls made of steel needed?
