EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

Ah, yes... I remember the startup. Truly humble beginnings; and just prior to that when FF asked you to stop calling criminals, criminals!

Well Steve; you must be doing something right. You know your site is a hit, when you start attracting trolls and spam bots

I sure am.

I started SHF nearly 3.5 years ago assuming that it would attract about 5 members and die out inside of a few weeks. I never dreamed for a second that it would become the place it is.

A lot of the credit goes to the mods, who jump all over misbehaviour with the ruthlessness of a hungry predator espying an easy lunch. Tommaso is especially lethal - he seems to have an instinct for trolls etc and I am convinced he is deleting their registrations even as they type their first (and last) post.

The regime here allows the free-thinkers to do their thing and to post about their work without being attacked, as happens so often elsewhere. We are all benefiting from the results of their offerings.

So we go from strength to strength. More power to us.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Steve, Bob, Ellixe, Milanese, Baluda and all those who have been involved in creating such GREAT trading tools. I joined this forum a totally ignorant newbie looking for a "good" trading system. I remember how I PMed Steve desperately seeking advise on how I would succeed in trading and he pointed me to Bob's threads. Steve, thank you for the advice! (I will be sending a tangible thank you soon).
I won't talk much, this post is meant to encourage all the other traders who have been struggling to "make some cash" in forex. You don't have to complicate things, you don't have to sign up to any other forum... Here we have all the expertise and all the resources to KICK THE MARKET HARD!!!
I hope to be sharing my trades and how I trade with HGI and HGB in a few days...
Thanks once again to all who have made this happen!

Here is myfxbook link for an account am trying to dig out of a really deep hole: http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Daforex ... nfYjwbbeAj

Wouldn't that be possible with a stochy filter? If we could define that HGB is only allowed to trade when a pair is within an oversold/-bought stochastic region, i.e.? Assume a pair is oversold (stochastic <20), HGB now only trades buy signals and opens trades accordingly. If the pair is overbought (stochastic >80), HGB only trades sell signals. In between it remains silent. Things to define are the appropriate stochastic settings like timeframe (daily, weekly, ...?) and stuff like that.

I started this year taking signals off matrix fired to my iphone and decided on H1 as my preferred timeframe. I missed plenty of signals but the ones I caught I watched against a hurst cycle, TMA bands and/or MML trying to find best entry and exit... watching for clues. Sometimes this worked well, other times I missed bigger moves but even if the trade went against me I practised getting out with minimal loss or small TP. I made about 20% on my account that month so that is now my HGI benchmark.

Steve I hope you are proud of what you have achieved here in this forum and so nice to share.

Hi TJF. Would you please elaborate on your entry and exit criteria? What time frame you trade... SL... TP... etc.
I trade in almost a similar way. I let HGB place only main trades on H1 on the direction of Daily time frame. I confirm and manage my trades with the help of CSS (Daily). Still trying to find the best way to trade this on a small real account with some $ I can afford to lose!

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

You have to be in my shoes to understand why the possibility of an obos filter has only just emerged - it had occurred to none of us previously. Or if it did then the poster was ignored, so my apologies to said poster.

I just added a stoch to a chart and scrolled back - it appears to have been able to filter out a lot of the bad RAD trades. Bear in mind that I only took about a minute over this. Also bear in mind the severe limitations of looking back in time in Empty4.

Those of you who do not understand the limits of the data that Empty4 stores, stay quiet now. Your posts will not be welcome and I will delete them - and possibly you if you annoy me.

Those of you with some understanding of what is happening here, apply Stoch/Rsi to a few charts and see if you can draw any conclusions.

Great idea. I have been using the 10.7 Stoch(722) and here is an example of a trade HGB took on 27th.

I have realized that those trades taken with a higher time frame confirmation and in agreement with the stochs ended up with some nice pips... Just my 2 cents.

V 1f is in post 1, with the Stochastic filter added. Details in post 1 - I have not updated the user guide yet.

Hey.. I only trade H1 from about 6am to 4pm. Entry criteria is Trend Arrow on 22pairs + gold - this is managed by HGB with close on 1st opposite (usually wavy or range arrow) although I usually exit manually before the opposite. 1 main trade only.

I don't set a SL (the close on opposite is my safety net) and I set TP 2x each pair's ATR.

If I close at a loss ( I usually let the trade run to the opposite) then I increase the lot size from 0.01 to 0.02 in HGB for the next trade on that pair. If I loose again then I increase to 0.03 etc.. (I would hold at 0.05 but haven't had 5 losses in a row yet).

After winning trade back to 0.01.

Hope this helps :jump:
