EA's inspired by nanningbob's work here, especially those based on his 240 Moving Average trend detection filter.

HGB saves the current chart as a template, then reloads the template every ChartRedrawMinutes minutes - default is 10. This removes signals placed on the chart and left behind after the market conditions change and the signal is no longer relevant. He checks market and pending trades, closing/deleting those sent during the formation of the current TradingTimeFrame candle.

This is a highly significant update and anyone using HGB should replace their previous version with the latest.

Hi Steve,

I am a little confused about this development. Tommaso went out of his way to make the HGI indicator not repaint, so that once loaded, signals for previous candles would not be updated. By reloading the charts and HGI we are getting new/updated signals. If we desire to have updated signals, wouldn't it be easier to use the HGI library, instead of reloading the chart/indicator every n minutes?
Yes, but I cannot make the library work. This is an interim fix until I have the patience to do battle with the library and am in a good enough mood to do battle with the dimwitery that will follow the need for the less able members here to install it. I had experience of this a few years ago, and am not in a rush to repeat it. What we have aint bust...........

Done.

I'm sure it's an easy fix for the Coder-General. At least I hope it is.
What are you wittering about wolfie?

I don't care how you use Stoch. Nor does anyone else here.

Rread post 1.

V 1h is in post 1.

I copied the Stochastic filter into PPoS and ZP and noticed that I had not coded for those of you with UseStochastic set to 'false', so HGB was using Stoch whether you wanted it or not. You do not need the download if you are using the Stochastic filter.

Another good week for HGB (version 1g, OOTB, H4, on the majors + GJ):
Selection_057.jpg
That brings the total of 6 weeks to over 4500 PIPs:
Selection_056.jpg
Somehow U/J is not playing ball. But overall the results are excellent!

Yes I close manually fairly often. I have some personal beliefs that many will think crazy. I think every week is unique and the the Market usually has no real direction until Tuesday around 1400 GMT. So, if I have a big Sunday/Monday odds are 90% I'll close them all and sit out till Tuesday, well after the London or NY open. Late Tuesday thru early Thursday, I'll let it do whatever it wants. Toward the end of the week (thurs onward) I'll close the stagnant trades and chase the stops on the others. I close all on Friday afternoon, unless I see something that I think will benefit from being open over the weekend.

Anytime that I sit down and say WOW...that's a lot of gain! (for me that's 1000-1200 bucks) I'll sit there and watch it...without fail, it starts dropping- Close, Close, Close! On the rare occasions it's still climbing, I'll keep a sharp eye on it. If I have to go to bed (I'm in California and sleep during London) I'll either close or chase the stops. I can think of two times this month that I didn't close when I know I should have; guess what? *poof* I would be well over 12k pips if I followed my own effin rules. WHEN IN DOUBT, CLOSE THEM OUT!

I've recently dropped two pairs that I would have thought should be good performers; GU and GJ. I've added USD/DKK and WTIcrude (oil) both have been good performers so far.
I have been testing the 10k set (same pairs and timeframe as wolfman) with very good results.
10k set.png
Week 1 +1256 pips I did not start the EA until just after the new Empty4 day started on Wednesday
Week 2 +897 pips Started the EA on tuesday 1300 gmt which was a mistake as I ended up 408 pips down as my positions were in the wrong direction when the news came out. So I will not start the Eas until after 2pm NY time Wednesday this week and see how It goes.

Does anybody know a way to allow one Empty4 platform send a Global Variable to another platform?

Here is what I am thinking. We have a demo account that we use for HGB. There is a little manager on the demo that places a 'don't trade yet guys' Global Variable on our real trading platform. Once the demo account has gone into DD by x pips, the manager sends the trading account a Global that says, 'up and at them tigers cos the retrace has happened.' Then, when the demo has made its usual profit run of 1000 pips it replaces the 'don't trade yet guys' back on the trading platform.

So far as I know, EA's can only read/write files from and to specified folders in the installation folder, so we need a way of getting the messages from the demo platform to the trading platform.
