"C:\Users\taipan_or_whatever\Application Data\MetaQuotes\Terminal\Common\Files".
Platform B does not create any files, just reads them.

Yes, sorry did not mentioned in my post that platform A file is located at:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\8B3A7CCF9A39E3xxxxxxxxxx\MQL4\Files

Still could not create .csv file on platform A even with new Empty4 installation (GlobalPrime Demo).

You are not looking in the right place. Forget about:

Have you looked at: C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\Common\Files?

The point is this:

We need to communicate between two installations of Empty4. So, it doesn't make sense to store files under the file structure that is meant specifically for installation A, or installation B. Instead, we store files under the COMMON area. In the MQL4-language there are flags that direct the FileRead and FileWrite functions to the COMMON area. These flags have been used in EquityBalancePlot and BasketMirrorEA to ensure that files written on one installation, can be read on the other.

Sorry to Renexxxx, did not know that there is a common area. I have received PM from Milanese and he pointed out the exact location where the files are stored prior seeing your post. Anyway, problem resolved and hope other members can learnt from my mistakes.

A little bit of background.

The BasketMirrorEA - idea has been thought of before. If you Google "Equity Curve Trading", you will find references of others who have tried and sometimes succeeded in outperforming the equity curve of the first account. Whether looking at the slope of the equity curve is the optimal strategy, I don't know. May be we need to look at a MA-crossover, but at what period/timeframe I dont' know.

This week, the equity curve of my HGB test account has been going down. Therefore, the 2nd account, running BasketMirrorEA, using the equity curve of the first account, stayed duly out of the market.That was a good thing.
Last week, HGB direct outperformed Mirror. I don't know what is best long-term. That's why I'm forward testing this setup.

Did I hear somebody say: Backtest? Shame on you, you haven't understood anything of what is going on here, or what has been discussed on this forum for the last 5 years.

I was hoping to get some collaboration on this idea. Now I understand that it is too hard for most to even get this set up properly. So, I will plug along and report from time to time how I go.

This week, so far the control account on downward slope, mirror account happily doing nothing.
About finding files, if you set up the control account and then look in C/users/name/appdata etc you will find it has already created the file you want mirror account to work from

Week 7 of HGB OOTB, H4 on majors + GJ:

As the equity curve was heading down until Friday, BasketMirror on the second account, stayed out of the market, but sprang into action on Friday after London Open. For a while it looked as if BasketMirror would return a nice profit, but due to many opens/closes as a result of the equity curve changing direction, the profit was eaten up by commissions:

Notice that BasketMirrorEA opened and closed more trades in one day, than HGB over the whole week! Also, note the positive PIP count and the negative dollar figure. I will increase the LRSlope and LRLookback figures in the Mirror, to try and avoid this hysteresis effect.

I will discontinue these performance reports, but the HGB results can be followed via the myfxbook link in my signature.

Here is my result of BaskeMirror for few days. It only sprang into action during London session.

Closed manually but due to slow internet connection, a lot of slippages occurred. Profit should be around 10% or more.
