Backtesting - Which Platform?

Hi Guys,

I have coded several stratagies in Empty4, but backtesting on this platform is awful. I am therefore looking at other plaforms to test me ideas preferablly a languague as close to MQL/basic as possible, then resort back to Empty4

Does anyone have any opinions in the other backtesting platforms out there:
Forextester, Ninjatrader, MultiCharts,Tradtionstation etc....

I have not looked at MT5 was there much improvement?

Any feedback would be most appreciated..

The PIE and RTM guys in FF are very happy with forex tester 2. However they do not automate their system.

garyfritz is one of our most respected members here and a superb statastition. He often uses Tradtionstation - hopfully he will be along later with a comment.

Zorro is great for backtesting. You can do multiple pairs, walk forward analysis and optimization in a fraction of the time. The catch--learning how to do all their scripts.

I've used amibroker, the backtester is great and the language is easy.
It is just a pain in the ass to get the data into it, but if you decide on this I can point you to some info on that. I recall you can export from Empty4 and import to Ami. I think the demo lets you do all you want as well (I actually bought the pro version years ago) Gary has also used that platform I think. Use Google advanced search to search this site for tradestation or amibroker and backtest.

This is a commercial product but looks interesting. I like the fact it will show past news events which makes visual back-testing easier: http://www.spheretester.com/
