Also, I'm thinking of buying the Forex Tester to learn faster, do any of you use it?

All from GP (with the exception of the exotics)

Actually, I don't 'monitor' them, just pass through them, marking S/Rs here and there.
Over a bit of time, it starts to look like familiar faces, and patterns start to stand out

Have never used Forex Tester, but have only heard good things about it

I do. Very good for testing strategies and learning in fast forward

do a search for something like "CL_EC_01_ManualTradingBackTester 130829.ex4"
its an EA that binds hotkeys so you can run the history tester in visual mode in Empty4 and use hotkeys to buy/sell/close and it keeps up with your positions.

note: have to allow dll imports in tools>options>expert advisors tab

in wine in unix the slider for speed is invisible but with some fiddling you can find it and then can use arrow keys to change it.

also fxblue formally MT4i is suppose to be free but I have not tested it on wine or windows

could probably write something like them with a user32.dll hook

for Empty4's strat tester it may still need a speedy cpu tho
