Deleting Global Variables ?

I am trying to delete Global variables in my Empty4 platform as there are hundreds of them from a long time ago .

Is there a utility/script that will delete them all at once ? as I can only seem to delete one at a time and it is taking ages ..

There is actually a function in MQL that does just that:

Code: Select all

   GlobalVariablesDeleteAll();

The attached script does the job.

By the was in the same subject is there a way to transfer the exact status of actual global variables from a computer to another one and preserve the same actual state during the transfer : Useful to not interrupt the previous work of an EA for example
IT supposes also that another script could load the file in the new Empty4 global variables. Any idea ?

Just go to File -> Open Data Folder, and navigate to the profiles\gvariables.dat file. Copy that file, and paste it into your new Empty4 instance, at the same location. You might have to restart the new Empty4 instance.

This will transfer all Global Variables from the old instance to the new instance, and it will overwrite/remove any Global Variables in the new instance (if there were any). If the latter is not desired, you have to do this a little bit more elegantly.

Useful advice here for everyone coding/copying this stuff.

For a mass deletion of gv's from your crapform: F3; ctrl+a; click the Delete button.
