HGI for beginners.

Hi all,
So for some reason I am having a brain fart and cannot seem to get the HGI indi loaded. All the other indis and templates from the zip file have loaded sweet, it's just the HGI that I am having dramas with. I have even resorted to opening demo accounts with other brokers to see if anything went astray with my own broker, but no joy, and have tried downloading the indi via other computers and still no luck. One thing I have noticed is the downloaded file's ( I have tried both versions on the front page of the HGI thread ) appear as a blank light grey icon, were as the successful files have the Empty4 "4" icon?
if someone can shed some light on my problem, many good vibes will flow your way!

Did you place the .ex4 file into the \Indicators folder and restart Empty4?

The icon of an indicator for which you have the .mq4 file looks like:


Whereas the icon of an indicator where the .mq4 is not present looks like:


Do you notice the little blue '+' sign on the second one?

I'm fairly sure I am using the correct file path

C:\Program Files\Go Trader Empty4\MQL4\indicators

Once the file is downloaded to my computer, it shows in my download folder as a page type icon with the top right corner "folded down". Does that sound correct?

The only way I have managed to have anything appear in the navigator window was via metaeditor and saving as unicode, which I didn't think would work because of the lack of code when I opened the file.
The result there was the same as the second pic you posted, with the blue sign, and a dead end.

Hello to all. I want to thank naningbob, milanese, elixe for their great work :hi: :hi: :hi: . it's amazing . But I have a noob question. I have read that we should run HGI 24/7. so what will happen if we don't do so ? will HGI signals be affected ? Thank you .

I found this HGI indi few days ago, downloaded the indi v17 first and placed manual trades using h4 tf, all of them hit TP resulting a total 182 pips in about 14 hours. I just found out that there is an EA for automate this indi, downloaded and attached to a chart but once hit OK on EA loading window it says ''The required indicator HGI_v15.06 doe not exist on your platform''. Remember, I already had v17 on my platform, then i tried with v15.06, it says ''The indicator is expired'', then tried with v.16.07, it says ''Indicator is expired'' .

Can anyone help me out on this ? how can i use v15.06 when its already expired? I couldnt find any missing trick that could solve the problem, I have read the pdf.

Thanks very much to Bob for this indi and Steve for this EA, finally i feel confident placing a trade. I have used hundreds of indis btw if not thousands .

Thanks Tommaso, It worked, Now the EA is attached to a chart,is that all ? or i need to configure something ?
The reason i am asking is, unless the EA places some trades I wont know for sure if its working properly.
