Wapen's Renko auto-trading EA

Yes, it looks fabulous. Just remember that any Martingaled EA -- and FR is one -- looks fabulous UNTIL it goes boom. Wapen hasn't had a boom... yet. (Which is pretty impressive, considering how many pairs he is trading.)

The long-term question is how much of your account each boom eats, and how often it goes boom. Wapen is up so much at this point that he should be able to survive quite a few booms.

I agree that the results are looking good.

Note the following:

I will never trade this high a risk as this one is trading with alive account.

In the beginning I set the EA only to trade 2 currencies at a time. I have only now allowed it to trade 3 currencies.

I only traded the following currencies, CAD, CHF, EUR, GBP USD. In the past AUD, JPY, NZD was the ones that gave me the biggest drowndown.

There was some manual intervention only in closing trades, never in buying to get out of bad trades.

This EA do sometime Hedge. This older of the trades I would then close manually.

Hi All,
Regarding the Renko system. If in-able the AllAverages trend detection mode in the EA using only the SMA with a MA-Period of 8. Set the SL to 3 times the bars and TP still 1.

Couple of inputs:

Wapen mentioned its not supposed to hedge, but rather close the trades and trade in the new direction. However, as someone stated, they were getting hedge trades and in my Cowboy IBFX Empty4, it is attempting to hedge as well but is getting the 149 error.

Also, I think the EA should either wait until the current bar is completed or a reversal has started before the EA activates instead of placing trades upon attaching.

Hi guys!

I've found a problem with forward testing of Wapen's renko auto-trading EA... my forward test is falls with an errors:

It won't modify a stoploss with a Trailing stop loss settings = TRUE (NOT Candlestick trailing stop)
My set file attached...

I'm using Alpari criminal terminal (build 432).
In my back-test of this EA (just to look how it works

) I've been using Alpari terminal build 419, and EA worked fine... Probably this is because of this new build... Can some one fix this bug, 'cause I'm not a coder

PS: I need it to work with attached set file

PPS: Here is my thread about forward testing of modifying version of Steve's Renko pure candle auto-trading EA, with same problem...

any one still use this EA ? I get with this EA problems on 625 build of Empty4 with Message " can't open file" .

Did you had a look on the date the last posts have been made here in this thread ? I think it's iffy, that someone is using this bot ... usually it's worthless to reopen these threads ... just my 2 cents :hi:

.... and most probably you won't find anyone for updating this EA to build 6xx ...

.... look through the forums threads and you will quickly find out the great places where the marching music is playing now, you might hear lovely songs there ... :hi:
